When it comes to preschool shows produced by DreamWorks Animation Television, many of them are usually either based on relatively unknown books like Doug Unplugs or Team Zenko Go, or they’re original shows like Gabby’s Dollhouse and Dew Drop Diaries. This makes the ones based on more established properties come across as more of a surprise. This includes the upcoming show Mighty Monsterwheelies, which reimagines the iconic Universal Monsters as a vehicular rescue team, and is coming to Netflix on October 14, 2024. Here’s all that you need to know.

Mighty Monsterwheelies takes place in the town of MotorVania. It’s here where half-monster, half-rescue vehicles known as Monsterwheelies are on a mission to protect their community. No matter the challenge, the Monsterwheelies supercharge their way to accomplishing the task while blocking the plans of troublemakers like Phantom Freeze and Invisible Van. The mission of the series is to help kids understand the importance of problem-solving, working as a team, and overcoming obstacles. As mentioned by the producers, each episode focuses on enhancing social and emotional skills, with educational consultants helping out in every step of the way. The goal of the series is to encourage viewers so that they can be a hero regardless of how they look or behave.

The show is created by Kyel White (who’s worked on shows such as Fast And Furious Spy Racers and Abominable And the Invisible City) and executive produced by him alongside Stephanie Simpson (who’s worked on shows like Arthur, Postcards From Buster, The Octonauts, Hilda, and Shimmer And Shine). The all star voice cast includes Tru Valentino as “Bolts Frankenstein” the firetruck , Grace Lu as “Axyl Bride” the tow truck, Cal Brady as “Sonnie Dracula” the helicopter/motorcycle hybrid, Matt Lowe as “Sweeps Wolfman” the trash truck and street sweeper, Sandra Saad as “Gill E. Creature” the ATV lifeguard, Chester Rushing as “Wraps Stretcher” the mummy ambulance , Weird Al Yankovich as “Mayor Van Helsing, “Sean Astin as “Invisible Van,” and Ashley Park as “Phantom Freeze”.
