Metalocalypse: Season Three

Created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, The World’s Most Brutal Death Metal Band Makes
Its High Definition Debut November 2

Blu-ray just got brutal. Adult Swim today announced that Dethklok, the world’s biggest animated heavy metal band, will make its high-definition DVD debut this November when Metalocalypse: Season Three is released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on November 2nd. In the third season of the animated comedy series from co-creators Brendon Small (Home Movies) and Tommy Blacha (Da Ali G Show), Dethklok is found in a precarious position without management after a violent attack on Mordhaus. How will the biggest entertainment act in the universe deal with the brutality of a troubled music industry, declining economy and their own unbridled narcissism? How will the band deal with getting too big and losing touch with their roots – by joining their own tribute band? The answer can only be found in Metalocalypse: Season Three, available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on November 2 for the suggested retail price of $29.98 and $39.99, respectively.

In addition to the 10 episodes from the latest season of the series on Adult Swim, the Metalocalypse: Season Three DVD and Blu-ray Disc come complete with bonus content including:
· Facebones Background Art Tour
· Skwisgaar and Nathan Ordering at the Drive Thru
· Mordhaus Renovation Extended Scene
· Extended Furniture Shopping Scene
· Klokateer Recruitment Videos
· Murderface Calls an Escort
· Pickles Drunk at the Amusement Park
· Toki in Charge of Snacks Extended Scene
· Two Swedish Dads Extended Scene

The Metalocalypse: Season Three will also Blu-ray Disc include a featurette of Nathan Explosion reading from William Shakespeare’s Othello, as well as five exclusive music videos featured in the latest Dethklok live tour for Bloodlines, Dethsupport, Burn the Earth, Black Fire Among Us and The Gears.

“‘We’re all very excited about the Blu-ray thing because we produce the show at a really high resolution. Finally people will get to see how hard our art director works!” said co-creator Brendon Small.

Metalocalypse follows the on and off-stage adventures of the fictional Dethklok, the insanely popular animated half-American, half-Norwegian heavy metal band. In addition to being the world’s most brutal band members, Nathan Explosion, William “Murderface,” Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles are also stupid…dangerously stupid. From sold out concerts to late-night snack-attacks, the animated heavy metal band creates a wave of mayhem, death and destruction wherever they go, but thanks to their “really good lawyer” they manage to walk away legally unscathed on every occasion. Since debuting on Adult Swim in 2006, the series has emerged as one of the highest-rated original series on the network and the third season has been the most watched season to date, with approximately seven million 18-34 year-old viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The animated band has also enjoyed very real success in the consumer products space, with two top-selling albums and corresponding sold-out tours, apparel, accessories and more.

Adult Swim will support the Metalocalypse: Season Three DVD release with a comprehensive marketing campaign including 30-second on-air spots on Adult Swim and online ads on various music, entertainment, comic and pop-culture sites. The DVD will be produced and marketed by Cartoon Network Enterprises and distributed by Warner Home Video.
