Jennifer Davidson, Cartoon Network’s Senior Vice President of Programming and Scheduling, died unexpectedly on 12/1/07 of a sudden illness. She was 38.
Jennifer began her career at CN as a production/operations assistant and worked her way up, serving in numerous capacities, including executive producing all specials and on-air promotions. In her VP position, Jennifer executive produced the launch of the all-classic cartoon network Boomerang, and also helped launch Adult Swim in 2001. She won numerous marketing and industry awards, including a 2000 BDA Gold Award (for Boomerang’s package design), and was selected for a 2007 Betsy Magness Leadership Fellow award. In September 2007 she was promoted to Senior Vice President, where she was responsible for all day-to-day scheduling and strategic content positioning of CN, Boomerang, and Adult Swim programs.
“We have lost a shining star, not only at Cartoon Network, but within our industry”, says Stuart Snyder, EVP/COO for Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media group.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to one of the following charitable organizations: BrightPoint for Children, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and BrightPoint for Children.
