Is Ahsoka In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker?

As we enter the homestretch for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker hype, the cast and crew of the movie has been making the interview rounds, and saying a few surprising things at every stop. One of the most interesting blurbs we heard was from the conversation director JJ Abrams had with Japanese outlet Sora News.

Abrams was asked who his favorite Star Wars character was. Typical fanboy, he replied “Han Solo.” He then asked the interviewer who HIS favorite was, and the reporter answered, “Ahsoka Tano.” She was the standout character of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, and reappeared in Star Wars Rebels, but has never shown up in an official movie.

Until….now, maybe? When he heard the name Ahsoka, Abrams replied “Well, then, you’ll probably want to watch closely during The Rise of Skywalker.” Holy Thermal Detonators.

This isn’t the only bomb from the past couple days. In an LA Times interview, Lucasfilm empress Kathleen Kennedy said they’re deep in thought over where to take Star Wars next, and stated the next “saga” may not even be a trilogy. Does that mean more movies, or less? The Mouse would prefer “more” but hopefully they make a decision that best serves the story.

Early impressions of Rise of Skywalker are leaking onto Twitter, and while reactions are mixed, the most common word being thrown about among those who witnessed the premiere screening is…..”FANSERVICE.” And with Abrams at the helm, that tracks. Our analysis: we’ll be surprised if Ahsoka ISN’T in this.
