Iron Fist Has Been Canceled On Netflix

Iron Fist

Is Iron Fist coming back for Season 3? Or will they end the series?

Iron Fist from the moment it came out was clearly the “bottom tier” of all the Netflix/Marvel collaborations. Whether you want to attribute it to the showrunner, the fight choreography, the incoherent story, or something in between, it wasn’t good, and fans made that clear. With Season 2, Netflix/Marvel went a different route, they focused more on the characters, the history between them (in the right way), and expanded the mythology. And fans and critics noted that it was better. But not good enough apparently.

For the companies have announced that Iron Fist is canceled and won’t get a third season.

Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Marvel and Netflix told Deadline in a joint statement. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series.”

However, that doesn’t mean that Danny Rand and his allies are gone for good…

“While the series on Netflix has ended, the Immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

Many are interpreting this as he’ll return to be a guest character on Luke Cage like he was in Season 02. Or, that he’ll return if Defenders gets a second season (which may now be back on the table).
