You gotta have an optional zombie story somewhere in a Call of Duty DLC pack — it’s tradition. The custom continues within Black Ops 3’s Awakening pack, coming February 2. it includes four new multiplayer maps — Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet — and the first chapter of Treyarch’s new Zombies adventure, Der Eisendrache. The trailer came out today, and you can watch it below.
So what’s the story this time? Activision says this new adventure begins where The Giant, the last Zombies map, left off. “Call of Duty®: Black Ops III’s epic Zombies DLC season begins here. In “Der Eisendrache”, Origins characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey embark on a suicide mission to an enemy research facility built upon an archaic site of unspeakable horror. Massive deposits of Element 115 have recently been discovered, delivering inspired new gameplay and — in Zombies tradition — a variety of plot twists and surprises to discover at every turn.”
You’ll be able to play this chapter, as well as the rest of Awakening, on PlayStation 4 in a few days. XBox devotees will have to wait an extra month. The new hunt begins February 2, 2016.
