“Inside Out” Continues Box Office Success With $52.1 Million Second Weekend

Pixar’s Inside Out pulled in an estimated $52.13 in its second weekend at the U.S. box office per Box Office Mojo, marking a modest 42% drop from its expectation-defying $90.4 million opening weekend. After ten days the film’s earnings stand at an estimated $184.95 million domestically, and Inside Out is tracking ahead of every other Pixar film with the exception of Toy Story 3’s ten day total of $226 million.

Inside Out also has the distinction of having the strongest opening weekend for an original film to date, animated or otherwise. Taking worldwide markets into account the film has pulled in $266.40 million so far, with major openings still to come in many European nations, Korea and Japan.
