Nintendo fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of new games, and for them, the only truly “new” games coming out are The Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield, and Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity. If you don’t know, Age of Calamity is a prequel of sorts to Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and is set 100 years before the events that you play in. You’ll partake in the struggle that sets Hyrule asunder as Link, Zelda, Impa, the Four Champions and possibly more.
This game came as a great surprise to everyone, and the people behind Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity talked a little while back at the Tokyo Game Show and Nintendo Everything translated what they said. They noted how happy they were first and foremost that the game didn’t leak, because they truly wanted it to be a surprise to everyone who witnessed its reveal trailer, and they were successful on that part.
The other thing they wanted to make sure of was that they were able to fulfill the desires and continue the connection that gamers have with Breath of the Wild. On that path, director Ryota Matsushita noted that he acknowledges how many people love Breath of the Wild, and he feels “confident” that this will “Satisfy” them on many levels.
Producer Masaki Furusawa added upon that by reassuring gamers that they really had worked alongside the Zelda team at Nintendo to make sure that this would be a faithful additions to that particular Zelda world. Which can be shown in the graphics, voices, and more.
The whole team can’t wait for players to experience it because it’s a truly unique and special thing, even moreso than the original Hyrule Warriors that debuted on the Wii U.
We’ll find out just how great it is when the game arrives in late November.
