Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity Gets New Story Trailer

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity was a surprise reveal made by Nintendo recently. It comes from a collaboration between them and Koei Tecmo, the team behind the Dynasty Warrior titles. The game is the second in the Hyrule Warriors line (not counting the expansions and the Definitive Edition), but this one is based in the realm of Breath of the Wild, and set 100 years before the main game.

After revealing it to the world, Nintendo promised that more would come via a live stream, and indeed that did happen. A new story trailer was given and it shows more of the setup to the game and how everything falls into place:

So as predicted, aside from Link and Zelda, you’ll be able to play as the Four Champions as they try and save both their homes and Hyrule from Calamity Ganon. We’ll also no doubt get more story and background into their characters and how they connect with Link, Zelda, and the others beyond what we saw in the memory sections of Breath of the Wild.

However, that wasn’t the only reveal, as Age of Calamity showed that the Breath of the Wild version of Impa will also be appearing in the game as a playable character.

So with her, our playable character roster is equal to 7, and there may be more as time goes on.

The interesting thing about Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is that we honestly already know the result of the story, as the Four Champions get trapped in their Divine Beats, Link nearly dies defending Zelda, and her magic awakens just in time to save him and hold Calamity Ganon back for 100 years.

So what will Age of Calamity do to add to that story? What else will they try and show players outside of more of the champions? We’ll find out when the game releases on Nintendo Switch on November 20th.
