Cast and crew from upcoming British comedy spoof The Hooligan Factory will be meeting fans at MCM London Comic Con this weekend, show organisers have announced.
A laugh-out-loud comedy tribute to one of Britain’s most successful home-grown genres – the football hooligan movie – The Hooligan Factory will be kicking and punching its way into UK cinemas from 13 June 2014. However, writer/director Nick Nevern (The Sweeney, Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie), who stars in the film alongside producer Jason Maza (Shifty, Rise of the Footsoldier) and their co-star Craig Fairbrass (Rise of the Footsoldier) are coming to comic con to give you the lowdown early.
“We are doing this film as a way of celebrating the genre,” says Jason Maza. “I do think the time has come to celebrate how well-made the original films were. Football is something people feel very passionate about and can really relate to. Football is a way of belonging.”
“This film has been made with real passion and appreciation for football violence movies,” adds Nick Nevern. “If we didn’t love these movies, we couldn’t have made this film.”

THE HOOLIGAN FACTORY will have nationwide comedy gala screenings on 9th June, with live comedy streamed from London’s Odeon West End into cinemas across the UK.
