Hollywood Reporter Talks to Angelina Jolie and "Kung Fu Panda 2" Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson on Female Directors

The Hollywood Reporter conducted a joint interview with actor and newly minted director Angelina Jolie and DreamWorks Animation’s Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who directed Jolie in Kung Fu Panda 2 which has become the highest-grossing film ever directed by a woman. Among other topics, the two discuss how Nelson directed Jolie in Kung Fu Panda 2 and how this differed from other directors; the challenges Jolie faced in making her directorial debut film In the Land of Blood and Honey; the differences in approach to a live-action film and an animated one; and how the two are approaching awards’ season, where both movies are major contenders for assorted industry awards.
