“Granblue Fantasy: Versus” arrives on March 3, 2020 in North America on PlayStation 4. [It will be released in Japan in February 2020].
“Granblue Fantasy: Versus” is a 2D fighting game where the goal is to eliminate the enemy by using a combination of attacks to empty their opponent’s life bar enough times to win the match. If you are a new player to the game, gamemaker Arc System Works tries to make your path easier by bestowing each character with “Skybound Arts” – a Skybound Art is a skill to use that corresponds to each character in the main game. Each skill can be activated with a simple button press, but to prevent overuse of that skill, the player will have to wait for a short period for the used Skybound Art to cool down before they can use it again. However, if the player uses a more advanced combination of movement and button presses to launch an attack, the cooldown time on the skill will be shortened.
There is a list of 11 characters, they include:
Gran [“Don’t worry, I won’t go down without a fight,” says the game’s namesake, implying he might be going down, without a fight or not]
Katalina [she won’t be holding back]
Charlotta [might be on a sugar high]
Lancelot [a strict Marquess of Queensberry rules-follower]
Ferry [judgy maiden to set you straight]
Lowain [bro]
Ladiva [motivational speaker]
Percival [arrogant trash talker]
Metera [very ladylike assassin]
Zeta [chaos queen]
Vaseraga [curmudgeon]
The game also contains a story mode. Unlike the main fighting game mode, the story mode is a side-scroller, action role-playing game that will have exclusive bosses and minions to battle, setting weapon gears, and a co-op mode.
