Ginevra is an animated short inspired by the unfinished poem “The Dirge” by poet Percy Shelley. The short follows a mother after her daughter is murdered. Through this tragedy, she discovers there is more to life after death than she ever imagined. “The Dirge” poem was based on the legend of Ginevra degli Almeiri, a lady who was believed to have woken up a day after dying.
Animator Tess Martin brought the story to life via paper cut-outs. Tess Martin uses paper cut-outs, ink, sand, etc. in her animated work. The animation looks exquisite from the released trailer and promises a compelling way for the story to be told.
The short is set to release online on November 13th. The trailer is available to view here.
