Kaboom! rumble, rumble, rumble, Kaboom! rumble, rumble, rumble, Kaboom! That is the sound of “Gigantosaurus The Game” slowly plodding your way on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 27, 2020.
The game is based on the Disney television series which just debuted last year and is, in turn, based on the book by Johnny Duddle and revolves around four dinosaur friends – Bill, Mazu, Rocky and Tiny – who try to escape extinction as well as avoid getting crushed by Giganto the Gigantosaurus of the title.
In the TV series, Bill is a Brachiosaurus who likes to eat everything in sight while Mazu is an Ankylosaurus who likes to study and build, Rocky is a Parasaurolophus who can use his horn in creative ways and Tiny is a Triceratops who likes to draw pictures and tell jokes.
In the game, the group works together to help Giganto [who, although he appears and acts fearsome, is actually on the same side as the group] and save all of the dinosaurs from certain extinction. The dinosaur friends travel from adventure zone to adventure zone in their quest to save their species and while there is some overlap of additional characters from the television series, it is mostly a quest-based game. There is also a co-op feature where you and three friends can control any one of the dinosaurs for the adventures.
Additionally, a kart-racing feature enables you to simultaneously hop to the next adventure zone while also determining which of the dinosaurs is the fastest behind the wheel.
