Will the Pokemon core title for Switch be like the handhelds? What does Game Freak have to say about it?
Although Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee is coming to Nintendo Switch this November, many fans are waiting for a more “core title”. One that resembles the iconic handheld games that have been made for over 20 years now. Developer Game Freak is making one, and it’s set to arrive late next year onto the Switch. And in an interview with Famitsu, developer Junichi Masuda has this to about what the game will be like:
“As for the 2019 title, we’re working with the idea that everyone will be playing on their own Switch. It’ll have the same kind of feeling as the previous games on handheld systems.”
Also, there could be trading with Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee. But it’s still up in the air at present:
“There have been times where you couldn’t bring Pokemon over from previous titles – I imagine that created some bad memories. I want to try and change that, if I can.”
Either way, Game Freak is working hard on the title, and when more information arrives, we’ll be sure to fill you in on it.
