Today, FUNimation announced they have the rights to two new anime series: Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts (also known as Baka to Test to Shōkanjū) and Dance in the Vampire Bund. FUNi plans to stream new episodes of both series on their website with English subtitles, mere days after the original Japanese airings. The episodes that have already aired (two for Baka and four for Vampire) will debut on FUNimation.com on Friday, with new episodes following weekly. They may also be purchased for $1.99 per episode.
The official U.S. websites for both Baka and Test and Vampire Bund are also up.
3/5/10 UPDATE: FUNi has stated they will edit certain scenes in Dance in the Vampire Bund: “…After viewing the unedited as well as the Japanese broadcast edit of the series Dance in the Vampire Bund, we have determined the series contains controversial elements which, when taken out of context, could be objectionable to some audiences.” The scenes in question are apparently not essential to the storyline.
