Zagtoon reboots Denver, the Last Dinosaur

Don't know how under-the-radar this has been (it was a surprise to me), but Zagtoon have made a CG-animated reboot of the '80s classic Denver, the Last Dinosaur!

The original series has been airing on Qubo until recently, maybe they can bring it back in preparation for the reboot?

Since Zagtoon is making this, I don't think it will go to Qubo. It's either going to KidsClick, Discovery Family or Netflix.

I didn't say this will go to Qubo, I merely said they have the rights to the old show.

It hasn't been on aired TV in France yet. It premieres on Monday, August 27th at 8:15AM. Only the theme song was uploaded online.

The reboot no-one ever asked for anywhere. I grew up in the 1980's. And all me and my friends knew was that outside of the kickass theme song that cartoon SUCKED. It was extremely unpopular even by our lousy standards (and we 80's kids had some lousy standards). Why don't they just reboot Foofur or Rude Dog and the Dweebs and be done with it?

The show was very popular in the 90's outside of the USA.

I wouldn't be surprised if they purchased the rights to the old show as well...

What's with all these reboots lately?

Because as ratings for TV plummets due to cord-cutters, networks feel the best way to ensure success is to rely on familiar brands. And clearly they’re scrapping at the bottom of the barrel.

And why this of all shows? I remember seeing this listed among many of the shows Zagtoon has slowly been developing, and I couldn’t believe this was getting a reboot. And Zagtoons don’t have a track record of making well-written shows, so I doubt this will be better than the original, and that one wasn’t very good to begin with!

Zagtoon owns the rights to the title character.

World Events Productions owns the rights to the character (and the show)...well, last I checked anyway. This would mean that Zagtoon is making the new show under a license agreement.
