Upcoming Star Trek Films News and Speculation Thread (Spoilers)

I want the other pre-CBS series to be represented in Kelvin with one movie each, and the rest of Star Trek's films should exclusively have characters shown only on the big screen, with each movie-exclusive crew running for 3-4 movies.

Don't get your hopes up because I think the Kelvin timeline is done. When Paramount formally announced the release date for Star Trek 4 the cast had no idea it was happening. Everyone's moved on now.

A new Star Trek movie was announced. To be directed by Toby Haynes, written by Seth Grahame-Smith and produced by J.J. Abrams. Apparently set decades before the events of the 2009 movie. "Star Trek 4" also remains in active development.

Worst idea ever. I also don't remotely believe it. Star Trek literally is the thing keeping the lights on at Paramount+. This is about as believable as Disney giving up Mickey Mouse.

What needs to happen is more theatrical movies in the Prime timeline. It's been 22 years since the last one. If it takes original characters to pull it off then so be it. Kelvin TOS should not continue without Anton Yelchin.

Don't like it, to be honest with you. There's no way that Paramount will sell one of their flagship franchises to one of their competitors at all.

A Star Trek movie is set to begin filming this fall, with plans to debut in 2025. Multiple Star Trek films are currently being developed. The one announced today is said to be an origin story movie with Toby Haynes directing. The movie is said to be set decades before 2009's Star Trek movie. Seth Grahame-Smith is the screenwriter.
