This site is a godsend. Peter sent me the original airing of the Animaniacs episode that featured the Yakko's World song a few years BEFORE it blew up and became a replacement meme. Therefore, I decided (a few months late) to provide the original airing of that very scene. Here it is, while it lasts:

A longer compilation of apparent connections between Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty, including some found only in Journal #3:
Some of this might or might not seem like old news to you, but I only recently managed to watch all of Gravity Falls in order, so it all seems new to me.

Say hello to Wilkins and Wontkins, two early creations of Muppet man Jim Henson.

From 1957 until 1961, these two characters warned viewers of the dangers of drinking off-brand coffee, particularly any brand that wasn't Wilkins coffee (although they were used in commercials for other products). The consequences usually involved explosions, gunfire, electrocution, head trauma, and other forms of puppet violence audiences would see in variety show form twenty years later.

According to TVTropes, Henson wasn't a coffee drinker, so it was easy for him to think of ways to punish Wontkins for not drinking the coffee he was advertising - all he had to do was to think along the lines of what it would take for someone like him to drink a cup of coffee. The ads also give a sort of dark, twisted take on the number one goal of advertising - their message wasn't so much "drink Wilkins coffee because it tastes good" as it was "drink Wilkins coffee...or else!"

A new episode of Nick Knacks, this time on Vegetable Soup, a 1975 PBS show that was hyper focused on racism, prejudice and culture. There really hasn't been another show like it.

And another one, this time on Kids' Writes, a show about adults in jumpsuits acting out stories submitted by children.

Not Youtube, but interesting nonetheless. Someone messaged me with a site that has some CBS news clips of whatever your special interests are. For instance I found this (unfortunately watermarked) clip of June Foray on "The Early Show" promoting the Rocky and Bullwinkle season 1 DVD: Wazee Digital Commerce | Stock Video Footage & Content Licensing

He says that you can download them if you have an account. He also said there's another way to download them without an account:

"You find out the number (asset ID) of the clip by clicking on it (URL).

You can add that number to either of these URLs:

https://crxextapi.wzplatform.com/assets-api/v1/renditionType/clipDetail/*asset_id*?siteName=commerce
https://crxextapi.wzplatform.com/as...s/view/SpeedView/*asset_id*?siteName=commerce

This will give you a download link beginning with cdnt3mt-a.akamaihd.net. Add https:// to the beginning to load the clip, then reload.

It appears that for Watermarked content they add to the filename right before extension: wmte."

In belated honor of the great Stefan Karl, meme god Grandayy (who started off doing mostly We Are Number One edits) revisited their roots and put together this great megamix of their past edits, including "explained by Bill Wurtz", "woahed by Crash Bandicoot", and my personal favourite, the one where all notes are in C.

Oh, and they also recommended donating to any of these cancer charities in Stefan's memory, so if you can, please do! He will always be number one in our hearts, and in our minds.

I put the Keizer, Oregon drive-through video on YouTube again. And yes, I'm going on one on Sept. 4, 2018 - just 4 days from now.

Here's an interesting obscurity, a 1980 special called The Fantastic Funnies, featuring the first animated appearance of Garfield:

A team of 90+ Internet animators recently collaborated on a shot-for-shot remake of Chuck Jones' 1942 short The Dover Boys at Pimento University.

This is the best thing I've seen all week. I've watched it like 5 times already and it never gets old.

Today's episode of Nick Knacks is on the 70s version of The Tomorrow People, a science fiction show about kids given the powers of crappy special effects, and Peter Davison is an alien cowboy, and Hitler's there too.

Fun fact about the original Dover Boys: Even though I currently don't have any Looney Tunes Blu-Ray collections, I still got that one via the Casablanca 70th Anniversary Edition, which has the option to precede the movie with period-appropriate shorts and newsreels. (The disc also has Carrotblanca, but no option to automatically play it and Casablanca in a row.)

This series of Japanese commercials did the "soap opera" shtick better than those Taster's Choice/Gold Blend commercials from way back when.

Huh....there was a 35mm film reel released for Take On Me. I wonder where it could have possibly been played.
Someone made a 2K transfer out of it and now we have an HD version of the video.

superkeegan9100 and I took part in an epic YTP collab that's all about Smash! It'll at least tide us over until Ultimate is released.
