Wow even in terms of just USING material from those arcs the live action series is treating One Piece far better then 4Kids did. Though seriously I am glad that instead of trying to rush on Alabasta they are likely saving that for either it's own season or mostly it's own season. I also heard that Season 2 is supposed to have 12 episodes which yeah that will easily fit all of those. As you can do like one for Loguetown, one for Reverse Mountain, two for Whiskey Peek, 3 for Little Garden and then 5 for Drum Island.
Not familiar with Mark but I"m sure he'll be good. It should be pointed out that Jamie Lee Curtis was UNAVAILABLE to play Kureha due to her busy schedule (I think specifically filming Freakier Friday which I guess would have to get dibs for Curtis's time) thus why the role went to someone else and Katey Sagal actually is a good choice. Wonder if that means we'll get more of an actual fight scene with Kureha but hey her just leaning to playing a bit of a heel with a secret heart of gold will be fun.
Obviously they're holding close to the chest though whose playing Chopper... and Robin while we're at it I mean even if we aren't getting Alabasta, if we're getting Whiskey Peek we're getting Robin so yeah curious whose going to play these big major characters.
"While we’ve known who will appear in Season Two of Netflix’s One Piece for quite some time, as well as who will be playing them, the Great Unknown was Chopper’s fellow medic Dr. Kureha, who gets introduced in the coming season. All we knew was who wouldn’t be playing her.
The role of Kureha was long believed to be going to Jamie Lee Curtis, until the moment it wasn’t. JLC is a huge fan of the series and publicly lobbied to be cast in the role, so it seemed like the most obvious choice, but then an uinresolvable schedule conflict made it impossible for her to take on the role.
Who can fill her shoes? How about Katey Segal? The award-winning actress, best known for Leela on Futurama and Peg on Married With Children, is the one Tomorrow Studios has gone with. They also announced Mark Harelik (Presumed Innocent) will be playing Dr. Hiriluk, which feels like they were going for someone with almost the same last name."
Admittedly the name isn't familiar but I have actually watched Sendhil before as I did get into Heroes... first two seasons and actually did like him as Mohinder. I'm sure there are going to be/are a-holes about this particular casting for Cobra as I feel some will say the role's "too whitewashed" or say it's "not white enough" or some such crap either way's disgusting and yeah it's more about the acting and I know he'll be good in that role. At first I was like "why is Cobra cast now if we're not doing Alabasta" but obviously we're getting the Reverie Flashback from Drum Island which yeah now that we have a bigger scope for the Reverie in the story could even be a bit expanded on. Though yeah sure we'll see Sendhill's best work more in the next season then this upcoming one. And if the series keeps going at a good clip

"One Piece seems a lot more “visible” now than it’s ever been in the States, and in this reporter’s opinion, it’s about time. After twenty years of false starts that failed to engage Americans (letting 4Kids create the first English dub was probably a bad idea), the Straw Hats have finally reached iconic status large enough to make a giant inflatable Luffy float through the Macy’s Parade.
We can thank Netflix for a big chunk of the increased awareness lately, and to think we were worried their live-action version of Oda’s world would crater its chances in the USA for good. But what were we supposed to think? Most of their anime translations had been stinkers up to that point. Thankfully they got one right, and it was an important one.
Season Two is being filmed right now, and as part of Netflix’s presentation week, actor Jeff Ward, who plays Buggy the Clown, took us on a tour of the sets in a behind-the-scenes video. He talks with showrunner Matt Owens, costume designer Kerry Barnard, prop designer Egbert Kruger and production designers Tom Hannam and Max Gottlieb."
"There’s been a question mark hovering over the second season of Netflix’s One Piece adaption since it was first confirmed. If the series continued on the manga’s storyline, Season 2 would have to introduce the next member of the Straw Hat Pirates and…well, this is an interesting one. This is a live-action show and they were about to hit a character that would be impossible to depict without CG: Tony Tony Chopper.
Chopper is a fan favorite, and any One Piece adaption without him would feel empty. But he’s not human. Chopper is a reindeer who ate a Devil Fruit that gave him intelligence and the power to warp his body into a human shape. Tony Tony decided to put his smarts to good use and become a doctor. That’s when Luffy and the Straw Hats first meet him.
By this point, Netflix has revealed every cast member for Season 2 EXCEPT Chopper. The streamer must’ve been waiting for some big moment to resolve this mystery, and it came in TUDUM, the live presentation last weekend that was devoted to new trailers and announcements for their most popular shows (and Happy Gilmore 2). It was here that finally, finally, Chopper stepped out from the shadows, hat and all:"
You know it's probably because I'm more used to what's going on currently in the manga but when watching this tease it did dawn on me "oh yeah Chopper did have these specific quirks we don't really see as much of anymore because of his character development over the arcs" between being better at accepting criticism and recognizing the fact he IS a doctor. Still this does look well rendered and I appreciate them getting someone known for voicing a talking animal part of a really tragic backstory (Floor the Rabbit from Guardians 3) that I'm sure will deliver well on Chopper's backstory considered by many one of the best of the Straw Hats... don't know If I'd go that far but it is one hopefully given a lot of time to cook in the season.
I think it was obviously teased some months back there would be a season 3 but it is good knowing they are working on that NOW considering how season 2 is going to end with Drum Island so they obviously want to make sure people know they are working on Alabasta so that won't be like a super long delay or anything.
Honestly season 2's preview does look pretty impressive. I especially dig how Laboon and Broggy look and yeah it is good the giant is convincing considering how many larger characters we are going to get. I will say that though I totally get and support the casting we've got I have to admit it is pretty odd seeing the actress playing Vivi considering that is an obvious take on her Whiskey Peak look which yeah I am super used to seeing more on a white character. Again it will be fine in the show with the acting but again in just seeing the designs that's what stood out to me.
"A Day For One Piece: New Season, New Anime, New Everything"
"You know how every popular IP these days has its own designated unofficial “holiday” for promotional purposes? Last Saturday, August 9, was “One Piece Day” which meant a torrent of news regarding the future of the Straw Hats in multiple media.
A big part of the visibility of One Piece in America is due to the success of the live-action series on Netflix, and the streamer confirmed on One Piece Day that a third season has been approved for production, well before we’ll ever see the second. Season 2 still has a vague 365-day release window of “2026,” but we at last got a first peek at what’s in store via the first-ever trailer:
The trailer marks the first time anyone’s seen the “real” versions of Smoker, Mss. Wednesday and (most significantly) Nico Robin, played by Callum Kerr, Charithra Chandran and Lera Abova respectively. We also get that amazing “whale” sequence to cap it all off, a creature 4Kids infamously edited into an iceberg when they had the dub rights (wow, that feels forever ago)."
"A Look Behind The Scenes At One Piece Season 2, Set For Sailing March 10"
"Netflix’s One Piece is a large, large undertaking that likely wouldn’t be financially possible if the series were not a hit. The new behind-the-scenes video released today makes clear it takes a lot of resources to bring a tale this big to life.
Inkai Godoy appears in costume to tease that the last season ended with the Straw Hats coming together as a crew, and that as Season 2 starts “they are ready to go into the Grand Line… “and the One Piece…might just be there.” 1,000+ episodes and your cartoon counterpart hasn’t found it yet. But Luffy is known for his unquenchable optimism.
It sounds like Season 2 will keep up the quick pace of Season 1. When co-showrunner Joe tracz says “every one or two episodes we go to a brand new island,” he likely isn’t exaggerating. This season has been announced to contain the entire story up to Drum island, which means the Merry has to pass through Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Twin Cape, Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden to get there."

Can you confirm whether or not the Swedish audio track of Cartoon Network Western Europe has an error in the episode "Nightmare on Toon Street" where it switches to the Dutch dub in the second half of the episode?
Because that exact error is indeed present on HBO Max.
