You know, I've been thinking for quite a while now how much wasted potential Shippuden has sitting there in the 2:00 slot. It consistently does better than the slots around it, meaning there's a still a loyal fanbase tuning in just for it. I think it it were at the top of the block, it would retain viewers from Dragon Ball. It may not be the MVP it once was, but it's still an evergreen property.

Part of me agrees; it consistently beats Lupin in ratings, and if it moved higher, I'm sure it would do better.

But on the other hand, I feel that's partially why they air it late; they know it'll still get ratings, even at that late hour.

They also probably want to leave room for the earlier slots of the lineup for any new shows they can potentially get. Shippuden could do even better ratings wise if it started right after DBZ Kai, but they also may want to see if that could happen to one of their new shows instead, especially when Shippuden is doing pretty well all things considered at the 2AM slot.

@Gold and Lucario I agree, they probably see Shippuden as the late night "anchor", but I think I'd be an interesting experiment to have it air earlier with Super and Kai and see if that brings up some of the numbers in the first half of the block.

I'm glad to see that Toonami's top slots are in the millions again. They should have just aired the premieres at that hour in the first place when Super started back in January. Outside of Samurai Jack premieres, Toonami was suffering being stuck with just having encores of Super. The ratings would have been consistently better year-round if 8PM hadn't hogged all the glory for eleven months.

It never really made sense to why DB Super had the second slot in the first place, It really lost a lot of viewers in its 11pm slot which really didn't do any favors to Kai after SJ ended nor the other shows that followed.

Here're the ratings from this past Saturday:

10:30 PM
Dragon Ball Super: 971,000
11:00 PM Dragon Ball Z Kai: T.F.C.: 869,000
11:30 PM Black Clover: 642,000
12:00 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: S.C.: 530,000
12:30 AM Mobile Suit Gundam: I.B.O.: 462,000
- - -
1:30 AM Lupin the Third Part IV: 427,000

Oof. Though not as good as last week, Super still did alright. Everything from Black Clover and below aren't doing that well.

Not really surprising that numbers took a dip after all the holidays have kind of thrown off some of the shows airtimes and Toonami's scheduling. However, I must say the last few shows did better than usual that is a positive.

Silver linings being the back half not losing that much and HunterXHunter beating Gundam. Still surprised it hasn't been promoted. I think it would do better than JoJo or maybe even Black Clover.

Even after DB Super airing once and at a time that it should normally do well, It looks like it is returning to the same spot overall when it comes to how well it does in ratings compared to the 11 pm slot it had, but then again that was the second airing, over this being a new episode airing.

Family Guy's ratings are in
Family Guy: 930,000
Even the mighty Family Guy got below one million? At least Super's performance looks better. Still, the other shows don't have as much excuse.
