Well it's officially been a year since The Loud House premiered on Nick! What's your thoughts in terms of quality of the show and do you think it is still holding strong?

It's holding very well and it managed to top off by beating SBSP in terms of high ratings, making it as one of another show that Nick sees it as successful as SBSP did prior the show itself.

It's nice that after going through so many shows, Nick finally produced something that's not only doing great on the network, but is actually an enjoyable series. The quality has remained pretty consistent so far, and hopefully will continue to do so. We don't want an instance where the show gets worse over time like Spongebob or FOP,

While it's not exactly a show I feel fully motivated to watch every episode of, I definitely find myself enjoying the show nearly every time I do choose to turn it on. The animation is nicely stylized and energetic, the characters are all colorful and each bring their own quirks (though I'm not really a fan of Clyde), and the stories - as stock as they generally are - often head in an interesting enough direction to still be worth the watch.

Because of how much people's standards have evolved over time, many of the more recent Nicktoons haven't done a particularly good job at keeping up with them, especially in terms of storytelling and writing, but I think this show hits a good balance between sticking to Nick's usual style and adding their own spins. The fact that this show is the first original Nicktoon in at least a decade to get this level of popularity makes it even better IMO. I wish the best to this show's future success.

Well... What can I say??? This show does have a lot going for it. For starters, whomever had anything to do with it knew that:

1) Abuse of bodily-function and/or other types of gross-out humor =/= comedy, and to more importantly, not being the focus of the show, despite its target audience being kids.
This show knows how to treat its target audience with actual respect, while also throwing adults like myself a bone or two with its mature enough writing and execution of its plots (not always, but any episodes that turn out crap are more the exception than the rule, unlike far too many shows that came before it NOT named Harvey Beaks, which I still think is a better show, but I digress...). While this show isn't funny all of the time to me, when it does hit with the humor, IT HITS HARD and with brilliant accuracy, as well.

2) Although this show has predictable setups, a grand majority of the time, this show knows how to make the best of them and make them their own unique (and sometimes even original) thing.

This show doesn't completely take the easy way out with throwing "been there, done that" fare at us like other shows before it (again - NOT named Harvey Beaks) would. Even if a setup feels predictable, I can tell I'm watching a good enough episode, thanks to how heartwarming and intelligent enough how certain conflicts are resolved throughout.

3) While a grand majority of its core characters do come off like stereotypes, there's actually a lot more depth and weight to the characters, as specific episodes will go out of their way to show.

Say what you will about some of these family members, but each and every one of them are blessed with what I'm getting at, which makes otherwise predictable outcomes and/or setups more tolerable, if not enjoyable to sit down to (again, unlike some other shows that came before NOT named Harvey Beaks!).

I feel the only character I still can't stand in this show is Clyde (seriously, his whole crush on Lori thing is stupid and this show's writing quality would skyrocket if they got him with that geeky girl in Shell Shocked, or something (e.g.: a relationship that actually makes sense for his otherwise pitiful / rather weak character, IMHO.).

Yeah... While I'm glad this show is getting the recognition it more than deserves and has rightfully earned for itself, I just wish Harvey Beaks had been treated better, as well. That way, we can have more than one awesome Nicktoon leading the regime to end of the decade in actual style, which this show more than is, despite my opinion that I don't feel it can do that all by itself.

The Loud House is a hell of a noteworthy show for something so simple, with the out there thing being such a large family of people with higher IQs than what you would expect, especially in worse off parts of America or any obvious 3rd world nation - and that's FACT: usually families of such size are bred by people with lower IQs than normal. It's just one more thing I can respect and show admiration to this show for: not taking the obviously easy route with what would be an obvious setup anywhere else!

Speaking of SpongeBob, yesterday was the 18th anniversary. Seriously it's like the two shows are almost linked.

Holy cats, it has been a full year and yet it feels like it's always been part of the Nick family.

Happy first anniversary, Loud family.

I'm really glad the show is doing well right now, and it's actually the first Nicktoon (besides TMNT and SBSP) in awhile that has gotten this much popularity. That's a great accomplishment.

Though, I really hope the show doesn't run for too long like SpongeBob and The Simpsons, to the point where it might be considered bad. If it continues to be popular overtime, then 5-6 seasons and a theatrical movie should be good enough, IMO. No more than that.

Overall, I've been really enjoying The Loud House, and while I do think Harvey Beaks is slightly better, it's still one of my favorite cartoons of this decade. The show still has its flaws that it needs to work on (like Clyde's character, to give an example), but I think it's one of the best efforts Nick has recently made (along with Harvey Beaks, seasons 9-10 of SpongeBob, seasons 2-3 of Sanjay and Craig, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, though I haven't caught up with the latter as of recent).

Let's hope this show can have a great success in the future.

I still remember the first day I officially watched this show and since then, this one is the only one as of right now that I actually genuinely care about right now.

Truth be told people are going to critcize me for saying that this one is better than Harvey Beaks because that is the well known word, or say that no one says that and that I am only saying others already say. Ultimately Harvey Beaks is alright in my books in its year it aired I never was grasped by it as well as TLH. I think it is cool and good obviously but I rank this one above, even for its problems I like every episode except for Two Boys and a Baby and Come Sale Away which I will say is 1 less than Harvey's bad episodes IMO.

Regardless the year was good for The Loud House, and what can I say it did very well in its first year I like the characters and the things this show does because it is lively. Hopefully Chris Savino and the crew continue to do a good job and I always praise their efforts against current Nickelodeon, and hope this show will help reimprove Nick.

This hasn't been brought up here until now, but on the podcast, starting around 36:50, Chris Savino announced that Season 3 will tackle a lot of emotional/serious topics, though "short on death." Now, as much as I do love the show, that's a bold decision to make over a show that's down to earth, yet funny and lighthearted, and this worries me. The Loud House may not be the right show to do something like this. It seems like that there's a trend going on with popular cartoons that stared off as comedic becoming deep and emotional. I have nothing against drama, but shows like The Loud House do help me feel better when I'm down, and I rely a lot on animated comedies.

I'm just worried.
