Ok, so Superman saves Terri Henshaw then flies off to Texas to save, of all people, General Lane (who had a cameo in Throne of Atlantis), from his co-creation, Metallo then heads to Belle Reve in Louisiana to stop Parasite.

I suppose in a way, Belle Reve is a nice touch stone between the Hell to Pay and Death of Superman digital comics. Wonder if Waller will even have a cameo in Chapter 2. I suppose Waller won't set off the bomb in his brain or risk exposing her operation -- or like Chimera, his physiology made it a little haphazard to use. If he was even implanted with a bomb at this point.

And the theme of power is illustrated here with Metallo. Superman's reply to Metallo is he had time to deal with his super powers and grow into them unlike Metallo, who got his basically overnight without his consent.

EDIT: "US Army base on the Texas border"? They can't say "Fort Bliss" or something? heh.

And forgot to mention, this chapter takes place after Doomsday's meteor hits the satellite and makes landfall.

Ah, so the name of the base last issue was Fort Carlin. Named after Mike Carlin no doubt.

And they went with the New 52 Parasite, Joshua Michael Allen. Those idiot guards though... or why the hell was Parasite was in a cell with bars where he could reach people for that matter.

It was great read with Superman's inner thoughts during the skirmish. Pretty funny that his plan worked out better than he thought, Parasite making an even better trap melting the metal as a defensive reaction only for Superman to harden it with his freeze breath, lol.

Loved how they tied some elements together with this issue! Toymaster from the opening of Justice League vs. Teen Titans was just a "son" built by the still-unseen Winslow Schott, who was first referenced in the opening of Batman vs Robin when they went after his biological son Dollmaker, to get revenge on Mannheim who appeared in the opening of The Death of Superman who shares a 'classic origin' with Schott similar to their ties in S:TAS but going further in that one of Superman's childhood toys was a Schott-Mannheim product.

Though the lack of Anton's mention and this set up creates a minor gaff but can be explained away. They said Anton's testimony put Winslow away for murder for 12 years. Which happened in the 2003 since Batman vs. Robin was in 2015. This laundering fiasco would have been around 1998 since the Blastfyre broke 20 years ago. So it could be explained away that Winslow cracked in prison but still made parole, abused children, got convicted, another 12 years added on his sentence, then died in prison.

The arrival of Lobo just after Doomsday landed can't be a coincidence...

Figures Lobo wasn't the real threat, the bounty was.

And it ends right before the scene of Superman and Wonder Woman fighting the Cheetah and Metallo holograms during combat practice. So all in all, this 4 issue "Power" arc takes place between the 24:20 to 24:59 mark or after the asteroid strikes the Excalibur to before Wonder Woman and Superman fighting the holograms.

Fun to see the movie's Intergang scene from Jimmy's POV. And we learn a bit more, that they kidnapped the Mayor and his wife to supposedly trade for comrades in prison.

Nice easter egg with Jimmy's work computer being a W Tech model as in Wayne Tech probably.

Not really a fan of the art style but it could grow on me after a few issues.

Yep, school bus solved that problem. Disappointed the goon didn't get the chance to reveal the real origin of the weapons after Olsen mentioned Darkseid.

Feels like a Leaguer will bail out Jimmy next issue. Though seems there's a canon conflict as Doomsday shows up the day after the Intergang fight. Gonna have to double check that in the movie.

Rant.

Damn it! Is no one at DC double checking the continuity?! They don't bother to consult with James Tucker and now it's clear they didn't bother to check for continuity errors! >_<

Superman knows those were Parademons because he fought a whole freakin' bunch of them in Justice League: War then met Wonder Woman for the first time when they saved Air Force One!
