Even though this already a well known event, i wanted to make a thread so i could generate some discussion about this topic.
For those not in the know, this vault fire destroyed many of MGM's original negatives, including the ones to the pre 1951 MGM cartoons. Since the originals were destroyed, many of the prints we see today of the cartoons are reissue prints, circa 1947-1958. The reissues changed some things, ranging from title cards, to gags, and in one instance, delete an entire scene.
