I wasn't a big fan of JW, so I'm not thrilled with Colin Trevorrow. In particular, don't let him anywhere near the script. It's disappointing, considering they've gone after such strong directors for VII and VIII.

I also thought Jurassic World was really overrated. I do not care for his writing at all.

All of that info is either in this thread or 'Force Awakens' prerelease thread.

I'm fine if they recast Leia. If the character was meant to have a good sized role in Episode 9, then I'd hate to see that change. They should definitely still use Carrie Fisher's scenes already shot for Episode 8.

What did they do for John Ritter after his untimely death while he was on 8 Simple Rules? Didn't they use a stunt double for a behind shot of a heart attack or something? I think that wouldn't technically be recasting if they went that route.
That kind of thing isn't uncommon in situations like this. They had to use a CGI version of Brandon Lee to finish some unfilmed shots for The Crow, and then there was the CG version of Paul Walker in Furious 8. I'm against CGI Leia for a whole movie, but I don't have a problem with them doing it for a few shots if it means giving her a proper send off. So long as it's done tastefully (and I don't doubt it will be), than there's nothing wrong with that. Recasting Leia for Episode IX is all kinds of wrong. If Disney was planning to use her in that movie, than rewrite the movie. It's not like Episode VIII which is already shot, they have time to form a plan on what to do for Ep IX. There are some roles you just don't recast, and Princess Leia is one of them.

I don't know what is supposed to happen in Episodes 8 or 9, but if 9 was supposed to have a key scene between Leia and Kylo Ren, I'd hate for that to just be scrapped. I'd rather a new actress play the part. I'd hate for 9 to have big rewrites just because one of the stars died no matter how associated she is with the character. Now, if it is just some minor screen time she was going to originally have then it isn't a big deal, but it sounds like her role was supposed to be bigger in 9.

I wouldn't want them to write Daenerys out of Game of Thrones if Emilia Clarke died tomorrow.

I don't think it would be a good idea for Leia being recast for Episode IX. I think the key scene is most likely for The Last Jedi than Episode IX. I rather have Leia being killed off screen than being played by a different actress in Episode IX. No-one can ever replace Carrie Fisher as Leia. I just can't see someone else playing her other than Fisher. I do think Episode IX could take the Star Trek Beyond method like they did when they mentioned Spock Prime's death after the death of Leonard Nimoy.

I'd hate for 9 to have big rewrites just because one of the stars died no matter how associated she is with the character.
Here's the thing: It's actually common for films to have major rewrites, like for example: Fast and Furious 7 had major rewrites prior to production restarting after Paul Walker's death as Walker's character was originally going to appear in Fate of the Furious before the writers decided to retire the character instead of killing him off. It's better not to recast Leia and I probably don't think that the screenplay has finished writing.

Now, if it is just some minor screen time she was going to originally have then it isn't a big deal, but it sounds like her role was supposed to be bigger in 9.
Well, it's most likely that her role will probably be given to other characters.

I wouldn't want them to write Daenerys out of Game of Thrones if Emilia Clarke died tomorrow.
There's a difference: Game of Thrones is based on a book series and Star Wars isn't. A recast would be inevitable for Daenerys if anything wrong happened to Emilia Clarke since she's one of the main characters of the book series, like Harry Potter had Michael Gambon playing Dumbledore after Richard Harris' death.

It's being reported Tatooine, Mustafar, and Endor will be seen in flashbacks in VIII and IX. Sounds like some backstory of Kylo Ren.
You know, I don't recall Star Wars ever really doing "flashbacks" before now...

But I also don't recall a Star Wars film picking up immediately where the last film left off, there's always a "time skip" up till now...

Oh, the irony - while foreign feeds of Cartoon Network ban just about anything, CN USA started to show Shrek completely uncut - with the "offensive" words intact - in 2017! Around the time when Cartoon Network feeds worldwide were already ruled by the nanny state!
Don't ever force yourself into liking a show or any other form of media and don't be afraid to speak up about how you honestly feel about it. Anything can be improved, especially with criticism.

Hi, Zedd, I wanted to to fix up the date on my birthday, when I was first registered here, it incorrectly date as 1/21/1995 when it actually 2/21/1995, originally I was going to ask one of the admins to fix it so that it’s on the correct date.
