Star Trek The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, (possibly) Discovery or even the movies from The Motion Picture to Beyond seem to be the common means of entry for various folks who became fans.
But has anyone else gotten into it through various other medias or products?
I am myself got into it through the animated series back in 2006. I was at the library looking for some cartoons that I haven't viewed before and found all volumes of the series on VHS (which between them had all 22 episodes). Yeah I liked what I saw and of course checked out the Original Series episodes and follow up movies as well as TNG and some of DS9. Performances by the voice actors (all of the TOS cast members doing the voice work sans Walter Koenig who for better or for worse wrote The Infinite Vulcan episode of the series) probably helped get me further interested in Star Trek.
Still need to finish up my viewing of DS9, as well as Voyager, Ent and Discovery, though I've kept up with it through IDW's tie in comic series (60 issues just called Star Trek and the 18 issues of Boldly Go), as well as minis like:
- Star Trek/Legion of Super Heroes
- Harlan Ellison's Original The City On The Edge Of Forever Teleplay
- Starfleet Academy (Kelvinverse Mini series)
- Both crossovers with Green Lantern (between this and the TOS crossover with LOSH, I'm kind of hoping we may see a TOS/Batman '66 however ridiculous it might be)
So anyone else have an entry point outside of the usual material?
Yeah despite the nature of the post, I felt it best to go here. Cause while I did mention my intro being the animated series, I'm taking into account the chance some might have become fans because of say the comics, video games or anything else really.
