Honestly, it looks good to me. Trailers can indeed be deceiving, but so far, I'm definitely interested.

I'm curious: if this film ends up being good, will it have the biggest disparity between pre-hype and release? I mean, this was getting a lot of hate.

Spoilers welcome, has Solo or Lando been seen in Rebels? I know Lando early on. I haven't watched anything pass ep4 of Season 3. One thing that grew on me but irked me early on was Lando. Especially since I had always thought he acquired his dress style since becoming a "politician" prior to Empire. Yet nothing I saw of him on the show suggested he was different from Empire. No character development.

I haven't seen the show but from what I could tell, Solo and Chewie are just about the only characters from the original movie that haven't guest starred yet and to boot even Lando has appeared.

I think Chewbacca did appear in Season 2.

That was a real slick trailer. It did its job as a trailer but wow, pretty good. Good job, Ron Howard and his editor.

So he's a drop out from the Empire's Flight Academy. Okay.

I think that's canon from the old "Extended Universe" continuity as well, if I recall...

I should get around to watching it.

It's interesting, we've heard rumors of some EU characters showing up in this movie and going on. Now this bit of Solo's backstory. Seems like the plan was to always strike the EU as non-canon and now thy're going through it and cherry picking what they want to make canon.
