Alan Rachins passed away at the age of 82. While his most famous roles were on L.A. Law and Dharma & Greg, he has acted in more movies and shows during his career, as well as did some voice acting.

Notably for this forum, Rachins voiced Norman Osborn on The Spectacular Spider-Man. He portrayed Osborn as a cold and calculating businessman who never apologizes for his actions. Even without knowing the comics or other cartoons and movies, you could usually tell he's up to no good through his interactions with the other characters. Spoilers will not be included in this post, but the whole mystery the show pulled off in regards to the Green Goblin's identity, was handled well. And let's not forget Rachins had the last line on the show.

He was such a brilliant Norman. I remember really liking him on Dharma and Greg too. The burnout hippie boomer role was such a contrast from the manipulative and calculating schemer that Norman was, and he was a great fit for both. It sucks knowing that there's no way he'll ever voice the character again.

RIP

He was a phenomenal and talented actor and perfectly captured the cold, conniving, and smoothly unrepentant personality that is Norman Osborn.

RIP Alan Rachins.
