Low Spark of Lyman
Y’know, I think the poor guy's screwy.
R.I.P. to drummer Jerry Allison, the last surviving original Cricket for Buddy Holly. He co-wrote some of the rock and roll legend's songs, including the big hits "That'll Be the Day" and "Peggy Sue". He also performed with artists such as The Everly Brothers, Bobby Vee, Eddie Cochran and Waylon Jennings. He released a version of "Real Wild Child" in 1958 under the pseudonym Ivan; the song became a minor hit for him.
EDIT: And about 2½ weeks later, another co-writer for Holly, Sonny West ("Oh Boy!", "Rave On"), dies.
