One Piece has another English dub?

That's still not the voice I had in mind for Luffy when I look at his character, but at least I don't want to punch him everytime he opens his mouth like the 4K!ds Luffy.

This is my first time hearing the original music. Can't say I was too impressed, but random clips don't give me enough to make an accurate assessment.

Luffy's VA is still bad, but it's less annoying than the 4Kids VA. Even so Buggy's VA from 4Kids is still better.

Gin's voice had me lol and worked perfectly.

Sanji's VA isn't annoying, but still that doesn't fit him. Nami sounds a little too old for my taste. Zeff is just awful.

I love Usopp's VA and with a bit more feeling he'd work perfectly. He doesn't sound like a wee baby and gurgle his verbs like the 4Kids VA. I bet if he spoke more like a man whenever he's not yelling that would be an awesome voice.

Morgan wasn't half bad, but sounded better as his dialogue went on.

Tashigi's Brittish accent is a nice touch, but should be done by someone who could do it better. Smoker and Zoro both have the voice of a sleazy Porn Star. I'm not kidding about that and it's just creepy. Yet that tutu comment was a really funny dub change on Zoro's part.

Everything else was just bad in general.

I really hope that the Polenesian dub has Miss Merrychristmas (4kids-> Miss Groundhogsday) sound like Kyle's mom from South Park, that's always how I'd pictured her sounding!

I remember before One Piece was licensed by 4Kids, people thought FUNimation has the rights to this show. One of the rumored voices was Stephanie Nadolny for Luffy. I remember people complaining about this.

It was more then a rumor. Funimation had a verbal deal, and another under the table deal was made between 4Kids and Toei.

And I believe Nadolny did voice Luffy in a sample dub Funi made.

There was also a pilot dubbed in Calgary, and directed by Teri Snelgrove. It was done for Toei specifically probably to shop around to potential licensors. A Magical DoReMi pilot was also dubbed there, and yet again directed by Snelgrove.

A Blue Water dub? I don't know if I would have liked it...

Well, to each his own, but I rather like the more recent Blue Water dubs; especially stuff by Teri Snelgrove. Strawberry Marshmallow for instance was an excellent dub both directed and apapted by her, and the dub dialogue in my opinion was even truer to the characters than the original more often than not.

Actually, those clips weren't that bad. I guess they are improving. I didn't think the G Gundam dub was that great, but then again, I haven't heard any recent Blue Water dubs lately. I wonder how the Flame of Recca dub sounds like.

I think what Blue Water needs to do is expand their talent pool. Get new VA's to come voice at the studio.
