Spun off from the "Captain America 2" thread.

We know Samuel L. Jackson had a nine picture deal with Marvel Studios but

Interesting bit for Dum Dum Dugan and a script update, McDonough let it slip to ABC News (2:20 mark) that
"Oh yeah, Cap 2 is in the works. The script is written and hopefully we will go into production fairly soon.

I'm really looking forward to the Nick Fury films. Sam Jackson and myself will be partners in that one. And I know Sam is really excited about doing it. So fingers crossed we start that one up pretty soon."
So Marvel Studios is going forward with some Fury movies. Sweet.

I love Ultimate/SLJ Fury as much as the next guy, but I don't know if a solo movie is a good idea. He's always been more of a supporting character, and he works really well in that role so much so that I can't really picture him in a solo movie. Hopefully I'm wrong though and they find a way to make it work.

I guess a Fury thread should be made, but for now I have the same concerns. But I think fans will have a better idea of SLJ's Fury when the Avengers comes out in theaters where it seems he has a bigger role. So far, the only other big role he had was in the Incredible Hulk tie-in comic and well, that's not exactly a way to gauge SLJ but it was interesting to see Fury out in the field doing recon.

True, we should probably wait and see how he is in The Avengers, but based off stuff like The Ultimates 1 & 2, the current Ultimates ongoing, the various Ultimate mini-series he was in, and his cartoon appearances in EMH, WatXM, I: AA and the Ultimate Avengers movies, he just doesn't seem like a solo-star. I'd personally rather a Black Widow or Hawkeye movie, in which he plays a major part. Or better yet a "Agents of SHIELD" movie with all 3 co-star, alongside Agent Coulson of course.
I love that idea and it popped in my head as well. They've used that "Agent of SHIELD" in a tie-in comic so there is a precedence they can follow. :D

Well, I'm not a giant fan of the SLJ Fury at all anyway. However, I was never all that familiar with the character from jumpstreet, so it doesn't matter. I do think they'd be smart to go with using the old Steranko influence of the character, which if Dum Dum is showing up, looks like they will. From what I remember of Nick Fury: SHIELD when he showed up in other comics, he definitely was Bond influenced, and HYDRA was the big bad. So that is the way to go.

Thing is this isn't the old MU Nick Fury. This one doesn't really have much of a Bond influence, aside from his one-time portrayal in Ultimate X-Men.

But for the most part he's played the part of bad-ass boss, who will step into action if needed, but usually employs others to get the job done. For a Bond inspired movie, I think Hawkeye would be the best choice since the MCU is already using Ultimate Hawkeye, who happens to already be a covert ops specialist.

Not all of Family Guy has aged well (and he knows this - hell, he's friends with the PTC president now) but I genuinely think Seth MacFarlane is a really good guy.

Imagine a broadcast TV network giving someone who worked at the Golden Age of Cartoon Network the opportunity to worked on a show, and doing 8 interviews, only to completely ghosted him for weeks for absolutely no reason.

Try to wrap your head around on that one, folks.

Seriously. Explain that to me, Memorable Entertainment Television? :/
Didn't notice that the site was back...

I'll start off by saying X-Men 97 has been a blast to watch. As someone who grew up exposed to the films and cameos on other shows, it was definitely a different treat seeing how both iterations of the franchise handle the characters and their world.
Professor X's speech in today's episode was powerful ... nuff said.
