Months ago I posted a thread about how it would be tricky to adapt Punisher into a kids cartoon, given Punisher's willingness to kill and the fact that many Punisher villains are realistic criminals and nightmarish psychopathic monsters . But it seems like there are several other characters who not work in a solo cartoon aimed at kids.
Black Panther deals with themes of racism and colonalism.
Jessica Jones features an alcoholic protagonist and features some pretty gritty scenarios.
Daredevil deals with a lot of legal drama kids could find boring and villains like Bullseye, Typhoid Mary, Elektra, Bushwacker, the Hand would be controversial. You could make a kid friendly Daredevil that deals with Silver Age villains like Stilt-Man, Jester and a toned down Owl and reduce the legal drama to nothing, but that just seems bland.
Ghost Rider gets his powers from a demon and most of his villains are demons, serial killers and rogue angels.
Some of these characters might work in a supporting role, but it might tricky to make some of these characters interesting and kid friendly in a solo cartoon may be tricky. What do you think?
