"Is King Of The Hill Getting Another Season Or Not?"

vlcsnap-2025-08-16-11h52m50s418.jpg

"The numbers are in and the new season of King of the Hill is a huge hit for Hulu. It’s become the streamer’s biggest animated show in five years. The first episode alone reached 4.4 million views in just the first seven days. It’s boosted the numbers for the existing library, where viewership for Seasons 1 through 13 are up 41%. And the series has remained in Hulu’s top five on the homepage since its relaunch.

When Futurama returned and performed half this well, its renewal was nearly instant. You would think in the press release, Hulu would have taken the opportunity to mention a fifteenth season for King of the Hill. They didn’t. The assumption among the fanbase is that another season has been in production from the beginning and will be mentioned eventually.

Thing is though…I can’t find any official statement, from Hulu or 20th Television or anywhere else, that mentions a multiple season revival. When I search, all I see is hearsay: “The order was for 20 episodes!” “Pamela said she recorded multiple seasons!” “My best friend’s uncle works for Nintendo and he said you can find Bobby Hill under the truck in Vermillion City!” Nothing concrete at all."

"Finally, Some Answers On The Future Of King Of The Hill"

"Earlier this month AS looked into rumors that Hulu’s King of the Hill revival had been renewed, and found that it didn’t seem to be based on anything. We looked into reports going all the way back to the day the revival was first announced, and could not find a mention of the number of episodes, nor whether or not multiple seasons were part of the order. All Hulu said was “Season 14 is coming.”

Our suspicions grew larger when the streamer released a glowing press release about the success of the new season and its impressive numbers…without a renewal announcement. During the week of August 4–10, KOTH racked up 1.28 billion minutes of viewing in the US, trailing only Netflix’s Wednesday in the rank.

Such news is usually followed by confirmation of more, but it didn’t happen. It was possible Judge and Daniels only wanted to come back for one season, and that was why Hulu was saying nothing about its future. But there was no indication either way.

Looks like someone finally broke through. The website Vulture has somehow received an inside tip that a second batch of ten episodes is on the way for 2026, and that it began production well before Season 14 ended. That confirms the rumors, but it’s also a headscratcher. If Hulu has another season in the chamber, they should have announced it by now. There was no such silence with Futurama – we knew from the beginning they had an initial order of 20 episodes “with an option for twenty more, and then maybe a movie!” This was even worked into the show’s own dialogue."

I had to think for a second because when I saw "AS," my mind immediately thought Adult Swim.:p

From what I've seen, the revival has been very well-received and I felt like it is a great continuation of the original, so hopefully this one does get renewed beyond the 20 episodes already ordered.

It would be criminal not to when the writers and such are on their game like this.

I have the feeling especially after the reveal that the numbers were the HIGHEST of Hulu in their field (above even Family Guy or Futurama) that we are going to get more episodes but they are simply negotiating HOW much and if there will be a pay increase for anyone working on the show. You know like how it took so long for Rick and Morty to get a renewal after season 3 due to AS making a legendary 7 season pick up deal even like 7 years later we're STILL cycling through... likely not anywhere near that much but still no way is Hulu going to stop just at another bunch after how well the traffic of this one.

Apparently, according to Toby Huss, it seems like they were seriously considering doing Dale's voice with A.I instead until saner minds prevailed.

They recorded it with Johnny doing a few episodes, and then, sadly, our buddy passed away, and they were going to A.I. his voice.

Then, they thought they were going to have Stephen Root and Pam (Adlon) and I read sections of scenes with Dale, and then they were going to pick the nuances of our readings, and then just plug that into a Johnny A.I. and have it like that.

'I read Dale at a read-through one day, and they thought — I may be putting words in their mouths — ‘Well, that’s not too far away, Toby could probably do Johnny, I got a call when I was driving around: ‘Hey, you want to do Johnny?’ ‘Yeah, that’d be great!'

"King Of The Hill Revival Receives King-Sized Renewal"

kothnew.jpg

"Guess we don’t have to worry about the King of the Hill revival being a one-season wonder anymore. Hulu has announced a double order for the series, confirming seasons 16 and 17 will be produced. Keep in mind, this most recent season was #14. There’s an unannounced Season 15 somewhere in here, which is expected next year.

After an absence of fifteen years — during which time the characters aged, but not by as much as real time would dictate — King of the Hill’s fourteenth season debuted with all ten episodes on August 4. It ranked at #2 on Nielsen’s Overall Top 10 Streaming chart, only bested by the new season of Wednesday. Hulu says 1 billion hours were streamed globally across Hulu and Disney+, though they could be factoring the other seasons into that figure.

Season 14 is also Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 98% Tomatometer and 90% Popcornmeter scores. I have seen it and can confirm it really is that good."

Yup like I said earlier no way is Hulu ending just with the next run and honestly with how good this season is and with how much more potential this revival has that's only a good thing. I do wonder if we're going to get anything with Luanne and Lucky next season since I know this season was meant to ease everyone in to the changes in Arlen and weren't sure exactly how to handle that but they'd have to know it'd be something fans would ask about and had to have some answer. And you know weird as it may be to say I kind of hope that's something they answer more in season 16 and 17 because I think NOW after people settled some on the new voices of Dale and Kahn people would be more open seeing them recast for Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty. So they would be in the show properly instead of just silent cameos.

I think I recall that they said they had the Kleinschmidts move out of Arlen.
