Again: if other important channels still play in the country and you see intensively mostly Disney shutting down channels everywhere, just draw your conclusions ;)

I realize cord cutting, decline of linear TV etc. are problems too, but not the main reasons

Disney+ is a factor, which poises to become as important as Netflix (unlike Max), everything else is "half truth", if not often excuses
Well Disney is Geting a new ceo in about a year so that’s why I don’t wanna come to conclusions too quickly (I want to see what the new ceo does to the channels)

Disney+ is one of the most subscribed services. To compete with Netflix, they need more people that still watch live TV. Shutting down the feeds is one thing to do. Disney fans want to watch their content so they need to watch them somewhere if people can't get access to Disney channels.

Disney+ doesn't have shows from the Saban/Fox Kids/Jetix library excepting the Marvel ones. And these shows are quite popular in Eastern Europe.

I speculated in the mid-2010s that Disney would add a Catalan track to DC Spain as they were pushing more for Catalan theatrical dubs (though Disney started in 1995, but it was only around 2010 that it became more common than not) but then they just…didn't do that.

Cars on the Road will be airing on Disney Channel Scandinavia weekdays from December 16th at 3:15p. It has already premiered during DC EMEA days last year. It's techically just rerunning it again. Unless they are promo marketing the show as "new" but we'll see.

I guess competition from the likes of TV3 Catalonia is particularly strong

Overall, Disney is not generally the sort of place where to expect minor language dubs lol

As long as Catalans can understand Spanish is OK, in their view

I mean, Slovaks get DC Czechia and many Czech channels, and they speak another language (but generally understand Czech)

Disney Spain did attempt to dub TDI into EU Spanish, although, only the first season was dub. The Catalan dubs on the other is somewhat successful as it covers the whole series.

Here’s some RTVE listings to proof. Don’t believe me. Check it out:

Disney Channel EMEA is marketing Mech X4 as a premiere even though reruns already aired on the channel.

Good news!
So... Disney confirmed to Público newspaper that Disney Channel will continue in Portugal because the pay-TV market in the country is very strong. Almost all families (96.3%) have packages that include TV, internet and telephone, which makes linear channels like Disney Channel very popular.
The article (in Portuguese)
Like I said in another post cable is still doing decently in some places.

Seems odd Nickelodeon promoting Friday night movies, and yet there seems to be movie spam this weekdays and no promotion for it, as well as movies on weekends.
Kinda realised that i've used the "profile post" section like a horrible Twitter/X user and not as a main user. I've been posting more boring content that it is not related to cartoons (since duh, this forum is mostly dedicated to cartoon fans)
For my apology, please accept a 55 min. complation of Gumball out of context.
@BlooMac got the silver Youtube logo (100K subs). Let's celebrate with his 1st video and a Summer 2005 ident.
Even though it's not summer, the latter fits the vibes of celebration.
I wish the Academy Awards went through with nominating Moana 2 just for the chance of it becoming the funniest Oscars win.
