2025 will really be like 2019 and 2020 when a lot of Disney networks will shut down. Wouldn't surprise me if DC US, Canada, Scandinavia, EMEA and RO/BG will be the only feeds they will have left after next year.
I honestly think these will be the few that will stay on the air for the longest time, except, obviously, the US and perhaps Canada which should be both out of the TV shutdown plans, I think. :s2025 will really be like 2019 and 2020 when a lot of Disney networks will shut down. US definitely won't shut down as Disney's HQ is in the US and they control the Disney Channels over there.I think that DC Portugal is safe for now, as Disney TV channels are leaders in Pay TV here, so I doubt they will disinvest in them.
But I'm curious to know if it will continue to be broadcasted from Spain, perhaps they'll move it to the UK, like Disney Jr. or to Portugal to join the other channels.

Yeah, I knowKeep in mind not just DCs are broadcast in Spain
Star Channels, Nat Geos, Disney Junior (even if as a rearranged version of the EMEA schedule) will still need a local team
Perhaps, the purely Disney-branded channels are still managed separately and DC Portugal might switch to a London-based operation as perhaps Disney Junior Spain too; likely not, but who knows
I don't think (well, almost impossible) they're going to relocate in Portugal, seeing many multinational and American companies for Iberia have Spanish headquartersYeah, I know
I honestly think that if it were to move to UK, Disney Portugal would probably remain responsible for the marketing (as it is currently)
If it moved to Portugal, I think what would change would be the the Spanish rating, as we have it, probably, because it is a Spanish broadcasting license. Let's see...
I think that in general, Disney's strategy of leaving Disney Jr. and closing DC in most countries doesn't make any sense; they could very well do like in Scandinavia and move DJr. to a block in DC.
Oh, okay, I didn't know that part about different contracts, thanks for clarifying.I wouldn't say there's a strategy of leaving Disney Jr and DC in most countries, bar Turkey and Spain; in Spain and Turkey it's only because Disney Junior has different contracts due to being paying channels, while DC TR and DC ES are FTA
DC US: I think they just want to wait until Christmas is over. It makes sense for them not to get the new logo between Halloween and Christmas. They want to have regular package for multiple months in a row without any special Holiday package interruptions. Falalalidays has the new logo.Speaking of it, I now somehow doubt their attention is to globally roll the new DC logo out
The silliest thing they're still doing is to keep all these Disney Junior EMEA feeds which, from a playout point of view, are played separately, even when they have similar schedules and graphics!Maybe they should have also unified Disney Channels to not get too many feeds to shut down. But it's late now.
Well, apparently, the reason why the Disney Channel will close in Brazil. Is not just Disney+. but because of the high operating costs in that country and failing to reach new agreements with the cable operators so I guess they had no choice but the close the channels in Brazil to save cost in the case of France and Spain it’s because they couldn’t reach new agreement with the operators (well at least France to be around to an extent) as for the rest I can expect latam and the nordics to still be around because they cover larger areas India and Japan too because the Indian branches of Paramount and Disney actually merged and Disney’s quite popular in Japan.
I don’t know those seem like pretty legitimate reasons to shut the channel down Specially considering that countries like Spain and Brazil have been on a financial crisis that’s the whole reason why cn Spain shut downThese are the "official" reasons
But we know we can't trust Disney PR: they often use justifications and offer their channels at very high prices, impossible to negotiate
They don't want the channels to continue operating in the countries due to Disney+ but still want to look like the victims, that's about it
But it's Disney and not some charity organizationI don’t know those seem like pretty legitimate reasons to shut the channel down Specially considering that countries like Spain and Brazil have been on a financial crisis that’s the whole reason why cn Spain shut down
I know but still Disney+ played a factor but you have to consider other reason tooBut it's Disney and not some charity organization
Again: if other important channels still play in the country and you see intensively mostly Disney shutting down channels everywhere, just draw your conclusionsI know but still Disney+ played a factor but you have to consider other reason too
