True, but it's actually the MENA area feed that has split from the rest, not the EMEA feed as a whole that has gone Spanish

The licencing doesn't necessarily mean the channels have gone Spanish,

Did Sub-Saharan split the feed? I think the split happen only in MENA.
He's wondering whether DC France is going to continue to sub-Saharan Africa in the French speaking territories with Canal+ Afrique and the likes, and I think definitely not, as these areas get the same offer as the French Canal+ for the most part plus additions

Plus, there are many African countries where TV availability still is low or very low; the interest is just not there

I know about that. I wonder how DC France in Africa will be different if it closed in France?

Also, I was just asking him about the broadcasting there, which is DC EMEA, because he had sources about the schedules.

It's a factor which is compounded in my overall conclusion, it's not a solid individual point.

I'm guessing the French feeds outside France aren't affected

Canal+ being arrogant and not knowing what to do, as usual

Saw it coming, and not surprised, I guess the other countries will get a pan-feed with the French track, or a similar arrangement, obviously there still be dubs as the programming is on Disney+. I remember this deal with Canal+ was made with Disney around the time of Disney Channel UK's closure, and I thought Canal+ at the time was making an expensive mistake.

Cartoon Network France had similar troubles with it being dropped by Canal+, but this situation is different, as CN France wasn't exclusive to one platform, it was just quite hard to get (the easiest way was via the Warner Pass on Amazon Prime, otherwise you had to get SFR or hope that a local provider carried it), and at least the channel came back to Canal+ via Max, although its now part of the CN West Europe blob.

Off topic-ish, I presume that France is also losing the Nat Geo channels on Canal+...?
They keep getting those L on that side... I still can't let go the Voyage closure, help.

Not yet, but a duplicate feed seems to be in active development, interesting part was that the early test wrote Disney Channel in french or Portuguese but I doubt it's that as most channels would have a TV program in that language it is catered for.

Interesting factoid, MultiChoice that also offer Disney+ and the remaining linear offering in a separate agreement is in the process of being acquired by Canal+ so the French will have control over African media lol

Wieso der Disney Channel ab 2025 sein Kinderprogramm reduziert - DWDL.de

Disney Channel Germany will start its primetime programming earlier from January.
From Sunday to Thursday, the daytime will end at 19:25 already, replacing the remaining two slots (until 20:15) with Modern Family.
They also mention "shared viewing" in the article, whereas Modern Family isn't the worst choice, I guess.
In the same course, they are going to add another movie slot before 20:15 on Fridays and Saturdays.

This all comes in pretty surprising as the channel had increasing quotes for the daytime over the past few months.

I kind of hate that DC Germany is a Freeform type channel. I wish they had taken the Spanish approach of just being a huge kids’ channel for free.

I think it's a German thing? KIKA closes for the night, Nickelodeon shares its hours with Comedy Central, Toggo shares its hours with RTL Super. Only Toggo Plus is 24h.

I love Modern Family and it seems like a decent choice
Probably not many kids watching the channel at that time

I love DC Germany kind of lives in the past from 8:15, it has a proper family channel charm, but I question the conservative branding used at night

@MagiaDiWinx far from being Freeform
It's a family channel for all and winning at that, like before 2005
Thanks to being FTA and all

Yeah, I also think Modern Family is a decent choice for 7 PM. The Primetime graphic design is kinda meh in my opinion, they could've used Freeform's current graphic design without using Freeform's name.

DC Germany used to air few Freeform shows, those shows were from ABC Family era.

Disney Channel Latin America continuities during Playhouse Disney block from 2005 - as you can see the block used the same look as in the US:
God knows why Disney Channel US refused to use the good and proper Toon Disney and Playhouse Disney new brandings created in-house by an American company which looked much better than what the American operations ended up using

But it influenced also "puppet" operations, with its strange branding choices

DC US always had to look more different even when it comes to Bounce itself

I actually don't really care about American channels' presentations AT ALL! But the Latino operations, and sometimes France and the UK, would blend them both. Every DC had its own visual style when you looked at the most minor details.
