Disney In English was a useless channel, the situation in Italy was a bit weird, their Toon Disney lasted longer and Cinemagic (as a block) didn't launch until 2011. It seems that they weren't ready to replace Toon Disney with Cinemagic in 2008, so Disney In English was launched instead.

It's quite interesting that the network lasted that long. It also contained alot of the older shows that weren't airing then.

Quite interesting it also became a secondary version of DXD in English... Goes to show how disposable it was to them.

DC Italy also has always had an English audio track, making the DIsney In English existence absolutely useless

Correction: we never had Cinemagic, despite my back-then huge appetite for it

Instead, we got a Cinemagic weekend block on Sky Cinema Famiky

Absolutely useless, Perhaps maybe Disney just wanted a spare channel to show investors something.

Generic Toon Disney UK Next/Now Bumpers. This era always seemed weird to me, not really sure why.

It's meant to compliment the Circles-era branding that DCI had during the time; albeit in a somewhat simplified form since the focus is towards animated series. This branding became very inconsistent by 2002, as Toon Disney UK started using a different graphics package with the egg-shaped logo, and when Toon Disney France launched in November that year, it decided to go for another different graphics package, but keeping the 2000 logo.

Yeah, in 2003 they spent much more.money on it, but nevertheless, I thought it was nice, albeit simplistic
In 2002 this package (the original 2000 TD UK one) was also used by Disney Channel Italy: many people dont know that, up to the launch of the standalone Toon Disney channel in Italy, DC Italy used to have a Toon Disney block on weekday mornings and weekends/festivities mornings, and naturally a Playhouse Disney block too

The DOG was the DC one all the time, although I have some memories of a TD one being also used, but mostly in the circle era

I've never seen anything from the 2002 egg era of Toon Disney UK, but it was UK exclusive as far as I know!
If someone knows something about this, send me! I think they were trying to cartoonnetworkize the channel a little bit
Toon Disney France at launch in 2002, used a slightly updated pres based on the 2000 circle package, but no egg!

The egg graphics I guess used an opt out to the usual circle theme, although the DOG still looked like the circle one

@Review Metabee I thought it was such a shame the Toon Disney international 2002-3 package wasn't used by TD USA instead opting for a MUCH inferior one, of course also used by their puppet, Toon Disney Japan
Same with Playhouse Disney US

Why US channels often choose inferior packages in general?

On top of that, US for some reason decided to adopt the 2002 logo only in 2004 and initially with a bit unfitting color choice.

Oddly enough, some elements of the US look were also used by Toon Disney Italy for TD4U block:

You can also see the very cartoon show Art Attack airing there

And one might wonder why many had hoped Toon Disney would shut down as soon as possible for Cinemagic...

Disney Channel Germany rebranding in 2002, also meant the EMEA team wasn't ready for the new branding for Toon Disney and Playhouse Disney until 2003 (it was better to wait for a total network rebrand as most others did) and DC Germany had been using a kind of US branding for Playhouse Disney for a short time

I think what happened is that Toon Disney was getting 2 rebrand packages at once. By the time US 2002 was sent to Disney, so was 2003 EMEA. So they just decided on one...

@Moleoman I think the colours for the 2004 US logo were chosen to sort of unify Toon Disney and Jetix.

I keep forgetting that it was just a block in Italy, but there was some presence of Cinemagic at least (up until 2019, almost outlived the Sky Cinema Disney channel in the UK if it lived on for another 18 months), Italy is mentioned in the list of countries which always throws me. :D

Also from what I remember from using Sky Italia (not long after Disney In English launched), although it was years ago, the language change option is very easy to use by using the search and scan banner. It's a bit more difficult on Sky UK, but there was less need to change the language.

Yeah, aside from the S4C and some very few others, in the UK, most of the productions aren't dubbed and come from English-speaking countries, at least on mainstream TV

While in dubbing countries and non-English speaking countries in general, a double track is very needed and even moderately popular, especially among language learners

Disney channels in the UK have always been quiet on European quota, as it's not a strict obligations, at least by OFCOM

Definitely far from the tight French laws where, in addition to a European quota, a local quota is also present
So much Cinemagic France (later Disney Cinema) had been broadcast since 2006 with a British license to bypass the local laws before shutting down, as XD and Disney Junior were after the schedule unification with most EMEA feeds (and not just in France); unlike Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney France, which were (and is, for DC) under the CSA (now ARCOM) jurisdiction, including fines for not fully respecting the quotas

Meanwhile, the generic promo for Playhouse Disney block from the same time used Disney Channel graphics:

And here's another promo with temporary Playhouse Disney endpage + the block's studio (with a wordmark-only Playhouse Disney bug still on top left):

I'm glad DC Italy rebranded in May 2003, as more thought and organization went into it

The PD and TD blocks rebranded on day 1, and in general (although I ended up loathing it during the final years, believe it or not) I think the 1999-2003 worldwide branding still had looked slick, I mean the circle one
I remember liking the Toon Disney idents so much back then lol

Compare it to the back then mess displayed by DC US before the Silhouette rebrand, Worldwide was years beyond!

Sadly not much can be found about DC IT Silhouette 2003 era, but I remember that, before the rebrand date, for at least 1 week, there were some "upcoming rebrand " idents featuring the normal Circle ident with live presentation block presenters (Massi and Isabella) being impressed at the morphing of the DC circle logo into the Silhouette logo with the globe graphics

Then, all of a sudden, on a Monday morning everything was different
There also were some idents, but there were so few, some feeds (DC UK and France, among the many) rightfully only used them in very specific circumstances, opting for Now bumpers, instead

This might sound like a controversial take but meh whatever.

Despite my disagreements with a lot of business decisions from Cartoon Network, I have nothing against the network personally. I have more of a problem with the fan base sometimes. They’re more annoying than Nickelodeon haters.

Yes, this terrifying homunculus that resembles Pearl from Steven Universe is an actual, officially licensed thing that was actually made. It's not a bootleg!

And to all those people out there who said "I'm gonna see X thing, to see how bad it sucks", if you know it going to suck, then why would you go see it?

All you're doing is giving the studios money by continuing making more crappy stuff. It's not a good thing, folks. It's not.
I had a Happy Halloween because I spent it watching episodes of my favorite Disney show

"The Ghost and Molly McGee"!

2 hours before Halloween was over in Europe, I reverted the branding to normal.
