One of the movies I have the earliest memories of is Little Shop of Horrors, the 1986 Frank Oz adaptation of the off-Broadway musical adaptation of the 1960 Roger Corman film.

Today I learned that it had a 23-minute alternate ending that was truer to the musical (and by extension the Roger Corman film) that was rewritten into a happier one when it didn't test well with audiences.

Here is an excerpt from it, "Don't Feed the Plants." Whether or not you prefer this ending, you've got to admire the work that went into it.

The Director's Cut Blu-Ray has the option to choose between the two endings. Neither seems perfect to me, but the one where Seymour and Audrey live feels more in line with the other changes the movie made to the story.

Do you still recall the last video you saw with them, and would you mind if I decided to share a newer one?

In other news, I learned today that Toon Zone removed most of this forum's rating buttons, most of which I don't remember pushing, anyways.

SO MUCH PAIN
I learned that Lea Salonga watches Voltron: Legendary Defender.
I seriously need to start watching that show. There were a few references to it in some YTP's I saw recently (most notably "Nope, not doing that!").
In other "I learned today" news, I noticed that our profile pictures are now contained in circles.

Unless they change back into circles, it looks like I won't have to re-crop mine - the round version looked like WALL•E gripping opposite edges.

Dutch and English have got so many "false friends": words that look similar and have the same origin but different meanings.

English: queen
Dutch: kween (a c*nt, also a farm animal with no clear gender that usually gets slaughtered on day 1)

English: wive
Dutch: wijf (a c*nt)

English: black
Dutch: blakend (burning, mostly refering to the sun)

English: acorn
Dutch: eekhoorn (squirrel)
(not sure if these words actually have the same origin)

English: deer
Dutch: dier (animal)

English: meaning
Dutch: mening (opinion)

English: invalid
Dutch: invalide (disabled person)

English: monster
Dutch: monster (monster, but it also means sample)

English: starve
Dutch: sterven (dying)

You get the idea :D There are lots of them.

I learned that Jon Cryer has a son called Charlie, and he isn't named after Charlie Sheen.
