Surf's up! Originally an OVA series, "Hot Wheels World Race" continues to make its lap around Toonami today. This is the official talkback thread for the episode 3 which debuts on Toonami October 17th at 6.5 PM (5.5 Central). Prepare to accelerate and comment on this episode!

Last week there were like these people racing and their cars did all this wicked cool stuff, even the cars that looked nothing like race cars! These one guys tried to take a short cut and there was, dude, like this dangerous wheel of doom. Someone lost a nitro-thing in it. Oh! These two guys got angry at each other cause they each think they were the better driver. Then Smash Mouth played and it was over. Did I mention the guy who is supposed be all about "eliminating" the other dudes? Whoa. Currently... Only Toonami.

Spoilers: If the episode has already aired on Toonami you do not need to worry about using spoiler tags. If you must comment on episodes that have not yet aired on Toonami you will need to use spoiler tags due to the number of people who have not seen the rest of the series. Thank you!

Was there a major metropolitan city in the background of that flashback of the stereotypical African guy's past?

Stoopid parachutes. Let the drivers die!

The T-Rex is based off the Hot Wheels track set, isn't it?

Why was the purple dude so worried about the main character talking with his love interest, who is on the same team?

Bah, the Wheel of Power is crap. Gimme the Wheel of Fotune anyday. I'd like to buy a vowel Pat.

Geez, the guy in black is such an obvious rip at Racer X from Speed Racer.

I'm sorry, but I just can't take ANY 3D fighting scene seriously. Especially in a series like this.

And of course, they just HAD to get those car speed-thingys.

So his home is on the verge of starvation and death, yet he somehow became an expert driver? Wha?

Bah, Rafiki is better than Grandpa.

Is it wrong for me actually to be enjoying this mini-series?

I mean...it's definetly got a horrible plot, with cheesy one liners and obvious outcomes. But I just find it fun to sit back and watch.

I watched it, well sort of kind of did. It was on and I was doing other stuff but I was somewhat paying attention. It wasn't horrible or anything but I think my biggest reaction came from the ending song and going "Oooh it's Smash Mouth."

I still don't think I like CGI cartoons with human characters, they still seem a little off.

Or the fact you can't accept a little mindless fun that takes up 1/20th of a week of Toonami?

Turn these talkbacks into PR threads. No one will care what happens here.

I'm not sure what's more deppressing the fact that this is even on Toonami, or that this review thread is doing better than the He-Man one.

He-Man's new eps premiere on SVES 6 days before Toonami's.

It's not wrong. For what it is, Mainframe scores another fun winner to watch. Toonami fans are too used to wars to save the world to kick back, relax and just have fun shootin' the loops with a bunch of Hot Wheels. :p

I like the show, tho.

JC's right. Toonami needs something un-epic.

Look at the schedule. You have SD Gundam, which is about a group of Gundam defending Neotopia. Justice League is the standard superhero world-saving show. Optimus Prime just died saving the Earth. Goku's saved the world countless times.

Zoids: Fuzors would do good, as it's people in a tournament.

Epic is nice, but it's not always needed. After watching "Countdown to Destruction", you sorta want a standalone episode, like "Grandma Matchmaker".

Oh, we can accept it. We're just not going to watch it. It's not a good show. It's only an okay show.

youtube Nickelodeon above banner STILL reads as That New Thursday Nights.. it may be a matter of time to remove that banner since there's no new episodes of Lay Lay and Dylan this time.
