In 1981, Mel Brooks released his anthology movie History of the World, Part I. Then he retired from directing in 1996, only showing up in minor roles in other projects since then, resulting in a sequel never coming to fruition...until now.

Forty years after his initial film, Hulu has greenlit History of the World, Part II as an anthology series.

Brooks will be writing and executive producing. He will not be directing.

I just watched "The Placebo Effect" from FX's Archer. F*** me, one of the best episodes ever. I haven't as much laughs watching an animated series for a while now. That Magnum PI parody is hilarious.
