Help with Dragonball?

I've been watching the recent new eps of Dragonball on Toonami and have found that like the first ones they showed last summer these are much better than any eps of DBZ ever hoped to be. I'm sure I'll be hating these eps in a few months when they've already been aired 5 or 6 times, but atleast I'm enjoying them for now :p

Anyway, got 2 questions/requests:

1)Will that weird General Tao guy (he's actually one of the few guys who I like the voice of in the dub) be showing up in this set of episodes? From what the Cell saga of DBZ said, he was a big part of this saga or something.

2)I'll be missing tomorrow's episode (got a class each Thursday when Toonami's on :(), so can someone let me know what happens in it tomorrow?

Thanks :p

I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.

AHA! So you DO watch DBZ...

Anyways, I don't know exactly who you're talking about regarding General Tao, but I think the Dragonball site (www.dragonball.com) has the details for all the new episodes, last time I checked.

Too close to Duelist, that's for sure...
"General Tao" isn't even a general. He's an assassin. Rumors say that his name may be changed back to "Tao Pai Pai" for the DB dub, but General Tao wouldn't work at all with who he is.

And yes, he should show up in this batch of episodes.

I don't think I've ever said anything bad regarding the better of the 2 Dragonball shows  It lacks most of the crappy filler and the powering up that DBZ has, resulting in a much better product. Certainly not good enough to rank even in my top 20, and I get sick of the episodes rather quickly as they get repeated ad nauseum, but overall a pretty entertaining show, atleast at this point in the storyline

Yea, that dork Tao Pai Pai (or whatever his name is) shows up. He's hired to kill Goku by the Red Ribbon Army and almost does it, but of course Goku wins later. Anyways, I think he shows up in Dragonball again later during one of those tournament things. In case anyone cares, Tao Pai Pai is the brother of the Crane elder who's master Roshi's rival. Well anyways, I just thought I'd mention that if anyone cares who he is...or was rather. ;)

Today, Goku went up to the fourth level of Muscle Tower. It was all dark, and there were trees, rocks, and grass wverywhere (like a traditional Japanese garen), and he couldn't see anything, but his lightning-fast reflexes helped him dodge some sharp discs thrown by the Sargeant Murasaki, who controls the fourth floor.

After Goku yelled at Murasaki to turn on the lights, he did. He introduced himself, told of how he camouflages (uses a cloth that looks like bark to cover himself) and asked Goku to play a game of hide-and-seek. Goku counted while Murasaki ran fast hither and tither... until Goku reached 25. He looked back from the tree and asked "What comes after 25" just as Murasaki was hiding under a hollow rock. Murasaki was really mad about that.

Goku started over and this time, he reached thirty. He looked everywhere for Murasaki, including his small hut. There, he found some hot vegetable stew, a kettle of boiling water, and a secret compartment under the floor that was full of porn magazines. :p Anyway, hte went outside and noticed a reed sticking out of the water of the pond outside. Murasaki was breathing through the redd, underwater, thinking Goku would never find him there. Goku took the kettle full of hot water and poured it down the reed. Murasaki suffered a third-degree burn and his toungue, by some phenomenon, automatically had a bandage on it. Murasaki jumped out of the water in agony, and Goku found him.

Then, Murasaki wanted Goku to race, thinking no one could beat him. While Goku and Murasaki raced, Goku started catching up to Murasaki. Then, Murasaki threw some of his flying discus things (the sharp blades that whirl through the air) onto the gorund, and Goku got hurt. Goku then went to Murasaki's house, got some sandals, and began the chace in earnest. He won. Murasaki was very surprised.

Then, General White told Murasaki to stop fooling around (he called him a moron lots of times) and kill Goku. Murasaki leapt into the air and came down on Goku. Goku simply put his power pole upright into the ground, and Murasaki's butt landed on the pole. He screamed for like a minute, and then Goku pulled the pole back out, and he screamed even louder. Then, Murasaki began to fight with Goku, who had his power pole. Goku's power pole broke Murasaki's sword.

Murasaki told Goku to fight without weapons. Goku said okay, but then Murasaki sent a bladed boomarang at him. Goku dodged the boomarang, and got mad because Murasaki had lied.

"You lied. You're not a very nice person."

Murasaki only laughed, because Goku was so innocent and vunerable to lies like the last one. But Goku forgot one thing- boomerangs return to their owner.

The boomerang hit Goku in the back of his head, and Goku got knocked out. That was the end of the episode.

Basically, Goku beats Murasaki in every way until Murasaki's boomerang returns from its flight to hit Goku in the back of the head and knock him out.

Today's episode was hilarious! Goku was hilarious. The best part was when Murasaki jumped up in the air and was gonna attack Goku with his blade. But Goku got put his Power Pole on the ground, and Murasaki landed butt first right on it. Then for like 1-2 minutes we see Murusaki running around crying with the pole stuck up his butt. Goku was on the ground laughing. Then Goku pulls the pole out, and Murasaki was again in pain. It doesn't get any funnier than that.

Some quotes from today (they were previously said though):

Goku: What comes after 25?
Goku: No you have a tail too!
Goku: You lied. You're not a very nice person.

Thanks for the summary. Looks like I missed a good fight, but atleast too much plot-wise didn't happen in today's ep.

That was hilarious, partly because it was so surprising that it was left in! I guess it would've been pretty hard for them to edit their way around that though.

The pole and the hole

I could have sworn I saw blood on the seat of the ninja's pants (might have been a shadow, though). And Goku stands there laughing--the most disturbing part of all. Seems he's too naive to realize a wooden pole jammed a foot into a guy's colon must hurt! That and he (rather imitatable) kettle of hot water down Murasaki's throat were the most cringeworthy DB moments I've ever seen....

To be honest I was laughing like crazy at the scene with the power pole. Partly at the scene (which was VERY funny). Partly at my AMAZEMENT that that scene was left in. Of all the stupid things I've seen cut out, I am still in a state of shock that that one was left in. How did they get away with that one?

Oh, man, now I gotta use that video to make a promo. 1 minute of the guy running around with a pole up his arse, looping video, followed by a calm little white text in the corner:

Dragonball, weekdays at 5:30.

Then finish it up with goku pulling the pole out, and sticking it back in 3 or 4 times for fun.

I rewatch that episode last night scince I'm recording The Red Ribbon Army Saga off CN. I think the pole secne gets funnier each time you watch it. The American flag, and hot water part was just as funny. I have to say this is one of best DB episode. :)

That was done pretty well, I'm still suprised that they left the scene with the Power Pole stuck up Murasaki's butt in. I'm pretty happy about it though, if FUNI keeps the editing the way we're going, this series will be far greater then DBZ (as if it isn't already). :)
