uhhh... as much as I've enjoyed what I've seen in Arrow's earlier seasons, I am ready for that reboot; maybe even give them some more new animated content beyond guest spots

I had a bad feeling this would happen, given that The CW probably wouldn't have aired eight DC shows if they had picked this up for this season.

Anyway, I'm all in favour for it to be resolved in Legends of Tomorrow.

If anything, resolving the cliffhanger in Legends of Tomorrow would be a better option right now.

Yeah I can imagine The Legends even making a smarmy comment about having to "resolve the plot point of a dropped series" or something amusingly as meta like that within one of their epiosdes... likely next season as pretty sure this one is fully mapped up and doesn't have the space for it.
