Fairly Odd Parents, Season 10 - News & Discussion Thread

With FOP's 10th season announced and coming soon, I thought it'd be a good idea to make this thread (and to focus on this season here rather than the Season 9 thread).

So let the news and discussion begin! So far, this is what we got:

Just a reminder: a 10th season was not announced yet. Fred Seibert said we would have "more episodes" and we've seen behind the scenes pics, but Nickelodeon haven't said nothing about it yet. Sure, with the proofs we got I think it's happening, but, it's still not official.

There probably won't be much news regarding this cartoon until at least SDCC, assuming Hartman even goes.

I think it's pretty clear that FOP is a pretty low priority show. I predict we won't get any news until late August or September at least.

Some news according to The Rise and Fall of Nickelodeon on Facebook:

"The Fairly Oddparent's future is set in stone for at least a new season, however after that doesn't seem too good. Butch Hartman said in an interview, if the series ends, they may plan to do a Spinoff, in quote, "We're thinking of a Spinoff. Recently we made an episode where Cosmo becomes the Godparent of Timmy's Dad. That was pretty interesting. A full series about Cosmo, Timmy's Dad, and Crocker would be the best don't you think? We're thinking about it"."


Now, please note, the FOP spin-off is not official until IT'S official Besides he said "may" so there's a good chance it won't happen. Still, if they do plan a spinoff, I'd suggest (and don't hurt me for this! tongue emoticon ) it be about Poof's adventures in spellementary school or the adventures of Poof and Sparky. Either one of those 2 have spin-off potential (and yes I am serious).

Is he for real? Now I've been trying hard not to knock Hartman too much, but, TBQH, that has "Bad Idea" written all over it, considering how sick of those three specific characters everyone actually is.

Oh please no. I can barely handle the CCTD Death Trio for a segment of one episode, yet alone a whole show.

I can't help BUT think that he was joking though. For him to say those 3 specific characters that everyone seems to be sick of can't be a coincidence.

Two things that gone wrong. The wiki posted never be trusted and secondly that April Fools joke was posted last year, not this year! Few of the twitter posts last month or 2 months ago saying there will be a season 10 though Nickelodeon really didn't give a press release about it for renewal.

As Fred Seibert's tumblr post, there's a hint that Nick secretly ordered season 10. He said that there are more new episodes FOP coming soon. It's just Nick didn't really give more information about it.

Hell, Foop would probably be the most viable spinoff character. He actually makes me laugh.

He's funny, but his design is stupid. Poof the useless beachball isn't any better either. Shouldn't they have aged somewhat by now?

Aside from the spinoff being an obvious hoax, I don't think anything using the current FOP characters would work. They're all stale and predictable, even Foop was getting tiresome by season 9. I'm not really a fan of the AGU route either, but the live action movies only generated interest from FOP fans because they took place in a future and gave a peek at the characters future lives, which seems to resonate more and bring a sense of closure if done correctly which the live action movies ultimately did not do (remembering Timmy becoming a fairy, what the heck was Hartman thinking!?), if they did a handful of episodes and not a full series doomed to fail like AGU did I think they would get talked about a lot more. There are obvious touchy issues, especially resolving the shipping, but it can be done better than "one girl winz the other doesnt appear lol", and if Hartman had any heart left it's what he would do to put this series to bed.
