It's off to the Demon World! And Supreme Kai definitely has his suspicions about Glorio, but he's their only resource for getting to Gomah.

Maybe don't bring Goku to a metal warp fish if you need to show said fish proper deference and not continually insult him by calling him a goldfish. Goku practically has the memory of a goldfish anyways.

I'm guessing there's been a lot of security problems with the Warp system, hence the need for pin numbers. Guess not knowing the pin number will probably delay reinforcements.

Welcome to the Demon World, Goku! Or at least the 1st Demon World, since there are three with their own inhabitants and environments...and our heroes will have to trek through each one to get to Gomah, I imagine. Also seems like there's a bit of class bias between those from the 1st Demon World (like Glorio) and the 2nd (where Supreme Kai and his siblings hail).

As if Goku didn't have enough to adjust too, now he has to deal with a heavy air! Though I guess it also means that some of his opponents and their attacks are slower too. It also goes to show that Glorio is a native that he can move fine and adeptly despite that, and show off his cool laser gun.

Dragon Ball has never been known for being high-brow, so here's Goku making a fart joke.

Settling in to dark and dirty village, haggling for hotel prices, and getting into barfights. The true adventuring experience.

Glorio is now starting to learn about Goku's insatiable appetite.

A barfight is the perfect chance for Goku to get his bearings better and fight like himself again! Guys' still got it even in a kid body! He can still beat up a dozen guys! He didn't even need to use Nyanbo!

See, this is why you don't leave your vehicle unattended in a seedy part of town.

Episode 4 "Chatty" - November 1, 2024
Forced to make their way through the Third Demon World on foot, Goku and his companions stop by a lone drive-in on the way. There they encounter some strange souvenirs and a rather chatty and quirky Majin woman and her husband!

The action definitely picked up in this episode and now we know how to acquire the Dragon Balls in this realm(of course, it's never easy). I was getting GT vibes with this episode and yet it felt more like the original DB in terms of the story.

Demon Realm equivalent of Senzu Beans and Potara Earrings achieved! :D

heh heh, Glorio caught on to the old demon and his "hearing problem"... :D

An impossible quest and three strong warriors. That's catnip to Goku!

Well, the Gomah dictatorship has begun.

New character unlocked. Oops, didn't test the bombs first, I guess. lol.

Yeah, gets me nostalgic that Goku is just using punches and Nyoibō. No energy attacks yet.

Well, they've lost their transportation, so all that's left is to hoof it the rest of the way!

Random monster encounter is the perfect opportunity for Glorio to show off he's more than just handy with a gun, he's a pretty good fighter too! And maybe Goku can teach him to use Ki?

"I'm a pretty good fighter myself" - Yeah sure Supreme Kai.

The Demon World gets by with their own resources! Like Medi Bugs that can act like Senzu Beans, heal ailments, or even fuse people! They're definitely using that last one.

I wonder if the constant song and dance of the Sky Seed is why the dudes' hearing is so bad...but hey, at least his wife is happy to make sure he hears HER!

A seed rocket is the best way to travel! Just have to make sure you stick the landing.

You can't tell Goku that there are Demon World Dragon Balls guarded by effective and dangerous Tamagami and not expect him to want to fight them and get the Dragon Balls. I mean, beyond the fighting, they WOULD be a convenient way of resolving things. But didn't Glorio pivot to agreeing to go after them way too quickly?

I'm not surprised Gomah is already turning the Demon Realm into a dictatorship that worships him and penalizes the common people, to the point of draining their lives when they can't pay his exorbitant price. And now we've got his mooks, the gendarmie.

Ordinarily you could count on Goku to jump in and save the day, but a wild Fairouz Ai has appeared! Granted, she's only good at causing a distraction and tasering guys, but at least she tried.

Goku just soloing everybody never gets old!

New girl is definitely cute.

They are taking their time setting this up. It does feel like a GT redux still. 2000s Funimation probably would’ve skipped these episodes to get to whenever the big battles begin. Still, I’m glad we aren’t in that era of anime dubs anymore. It was hard getting into GT when the first quarter of it was missing for a year…

Now that we have the new characters introduced and assembled, I assume the plot will move along more. So far Goku hasn’t really faced any challenging opponents. We still need to see the limits of his power in this series. Goku is just plowing through generic bad guys like in the red ribbon army saga. Maybe he will encounter a tough opponent and Bulma will arrive in the other ship with Vegeta to help.

So far this is more of a OG Dragon Ball slow-burn but I think once we get to the Tamagami fights (and Goku goes Super Saiyan again) things will start really escalating.

I know we mentioned the GT comparison before but besides the fact that Panzy seems to be the Pan of this show so far, the other thing that reminded me of the show is the fact that we haven't really seen what the other characters are up to besides Goku and co. But it does look like Glorio is up to something since Supreme Kai mentioned how the king didn't even know they were turned into kids, even though Glorio said otherwise.

Panzy? Yeah, that tracks for Dragon Ball. And she's your classic cute spitfire girl who immediately wants to join the group and manages to sell herself with giving Goku a meal which is like the best way to win over Goku.

Did Glorio know she was the princess? Is that part of why he didn't want her around? Glorio's playing a lot close to the vest?

Well, now Goku is basically Public Enemy Number 1 for the Gendarmerie.

I wish we had gotten more with the busty instructor lady.

Well, I guess I'm glad Gomah is taking good care of Baby Dende, even if it's because he needs him for his sinister plan.

Episodes without Goku soloing a bunch of guys: 0. He even went Super Saiyan for a second! Though just briefly and there was only a leftover aura, but still.

Hybis makes his debut! And he seems like a perfectly quirky Dragon Ball character!

"Go steal a midsize ship!" - Ah, so that's why Panzy's dad is known as a mafia boss. But I guess they only target bad guys and criminals so they're probably better than Gomah.

Panzy has officially joined the party! And it's a good thing she's apparently the Majin equivalent of Bulma because her luggage literally just crashed their ship so they'll need to repair it.

There's a "Pan" in "Panzy" but I agree she feels more like a Majin version of Bulma - an unorthodox princess (Dr. Briefs is basically the king of the tech industry), good with machines, thinks Goku's a weirdo at first. Plus, Bulma's name is named after "bloomers" and phoentically, Panzy could be literally a play on "panties." It was hilarious they were limiting info they were telling her, and she turns out to be the Third Demon World princess.

Ah, not just a hostage but Gomah wants Dende to create him a new set of Dragon Balls. That way he doesn't have to leave Demon Realm or tango with the Tamagami.

King Kadan, basically an uncivilized mafia boss. lol. I love that classic trickery, he looked menacing in his first scene but he was really just golfing. :D And he's a bit of a pushover when Panzy's around, heh heh.

It's curious. We know Glorio was in that throne room spying on Gomah when he was scheming in the first episode. And he goes to Kadan to tell him about Gomah but not the finer details. I bet he's a double agent working for Dr. Arinsu who clearly has her own agenda and I'm thinking she's decided to get rid of Gomah through indirect means, likely for her own benefit but can't let it track back to her so he hired Glorio who's basically a merc-for-hire I think. Then there's the question, is it whoever's next in line she wants in charge or does she want a civil war to break out - since we now know Kadan wants to take over so maybe Second World's kind does, too - and perhaps profit from it?

Well, that solves how Bulma, Piccolo, and Vegeta are getting to Demon Realm.

I like that we back to classic Goku who can't even remember someone's name. lol. But Panzy is kinda right, Goku is a weird name if you try to directly translate it into English. Something like "seeing emptiness" but we now Son Goku is a nod to the Monkey King from Journey to the West. And well Kakarot=carrot so Panzy isn't that far off with her assessment, lol.

It was nice to see Goku finally getting used to Demon Realm and he's getting closer to going Super Saiyan. I am curious who will get there first, him or Vegeta. Or if we'll see SS2 and SS3.

Gonna be more than 4 days. :D :D

At first I thought her name was a reference to panties too, but apparently it’s a reference to pansy flowers. The other new character Hybis is a reference to hibiscus. Glorio is a reference to gloriosa. There is a trend of the new characters are using flower based names.

It wouldn't surprise me if Goku doesn't remember Glorio's name until they spar next week. But I did like how he introduced himself as a Saiyan and as Kakarot :).

I expect when we see Vegeta he'll have already unlocked SS1 .

Just found out the big shocking surprise about the dub, the child versions of the characters will be recast, rather than the voices of the adult characters reprising the child versions. Didn't see that coming. Still, to those expecting the end credits to reveal where the dub will air/stream, it seems like it will still be a mystery.

I had forgotten the English dub of the movie compilation of the first 3 (2?) episodes premiered today in theaters and runs until Tuesday. So that explains why actors are announcing their involvement on social media. Maybe CR will start their English dub this coming Friday at the earliest.

Got me thinking. Gomah, I thought was literally a nod to roasted sesame sauce in Japanese but perhaps he was named after a rare flower called goma de Sonora is a flower in NW Mexico/SW USA.

"Characters don't become tax write offs". I'll remember this to myself and I'll keep saying it because nothing in entertainment is going to be permanent. This is with any IP under copyright or trademark. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was brought out of retirement for example. What about Apu or any other famous character that was "retired", shelved, or fallen out of use? Only if there is a good idea worth telling.
I keep thinking about that scene from one of the most recent episodes of The Simpsons, where the characters complain about a video they just watched being animated, and demand live-action because "they're adults".
Wonder why whenever Nickelodeon airs something holiday related specials such as SpongeBob, Patrick Star Show, etc.. why isn't the theme getting more spirit and staying the same? I mean Sandy's Country Christmas airing did NOT get Christmas theme opening credits..

Disney has done nowadays with updated theme to be holiday version
You know something? How come the 80s MLP series never aired on The Hub/Discovery Family? I mean, 80s G.I. Joe and Transformers were there, so why not 80s MLP?
