Eclipso's voice sound familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on who it might be, ditto for the other big bad.

Also, I can see Barda is being involved as well.

Just going by that trailer, I think this is shaping up to be the best animated DC Super Hero Girl product yet :D.

A female Eclipso as the main villain is cool .

Hey, Dark Opal! Great to have more Amethyst references :).

Katana vs. Dark Opal looks cool, and it's nice to see Katana getting an action scene ;).

"This is a school for Superheroes, not Supervillains!" Even though several of the student body and faculty are traditionally villains :p.

The Kents and Commissioner Gordon are back and playing a semi-big role in the movie? I guess they're now official supporting cast members :anime:.

I was surprised to see a Batplane at the end of the trailer. And to boot Hippolyta appears to be in there with them and some one else, not sure yet -- maybe Citrina, another Gemworld character.

EDIT: Could be Mala (of Bana Mighdall) or Kadesha.

Looks pretty cool to me. It's probably to early to tell from this single trailer, but it seems to me this will have more action than the TV Special. I like the villains' designs.

Does anyone know how long this movie is supposed to be?

I think Shea Fontana mentioned in an interview that, while the webisodes are more focused on the daily lives and tribulations of the cast at Superhero High, the graphic novels and bigger animations projects like the special and this movie will be more action-y .

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment officially announced the home media release of the DC Super Hero Girls: Hero of the Year animated feature. Details are available at The World's Finest or below!

WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL FEMALE SUPER HEROES NAVIGATE THE
TWISTS AND TURNS OF HIGH SCHOOL AS WARNER BROS. HOME ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES
DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: HERO OF THE YEAR
ON DVD AUGUST 23, 2016

Where can you find the most powerful and prominent Super Teens in the galaxy? Super Hero High of course! Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy and Katana band together to navigate the twists and turns of high school in DC Super Hero Girls: Hero of the Year. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) on August 9 on Digital HD and August 23, 2016 on DVD (SRP $19.98).

These young Super Heroes discover unique abilities, develop powers, and combat an abundance of overwhelming, exciting and awkward moments to master the fundamentals of being a hero – one day at a time! The group includes:

· Wonder Woman was raised on Themyscira, a paradise island overflowing with female leaders. This natural born leader has super strength, the power of flight and a magic lasso that forces anyone to tell the truth.

· Batgirl is crazy smart – she was accepted to Super Hero High based on her brainpower alone (she wasn’t born with super powers). But this crime-fighting sleuth may be the most influential of all! Her unparalleled intellect, expert martial arts skills, photographic memory and legendary detective skills are a formula for an incredible Super Hero.

· Supergirl is the most powerful teen on earth, but also incredibly clumsy. She has super strength, super hearing and super speed but will need to be sure she doesn’t trip over her own two feet en route to saving the world.

· Harley Quinn is the resident class clown who lives for jokes and over-the-top pranks. Nonetheless, this quick-witted gymnast is sneaky and full of surprises.

· Bumblebee has the ability to shrink, allowing her to sneak around without being spotted. She makes sure her team is never surprised by any villains or enemies up to no good.

· Poison Ivy, got caught up in a botched lab experiment, and now has the ability to control and summon plants. She’s gradually adapting to her amazing new powers and blossoming into her new life.

· Katana is an artist with an edge – this fearless martial arts fashionista is up for any crime-fighting test and is never without her sword.

Together, these seven fearless Super Heroes prove that we all have the power to make the world a better place - even while school is in session!

Girls around the world now have their very own Super Hero world to play, watch, read and be inspired! To further bring this all-new universe to life, DC Super Hero Girls animated shorts and TV specials will continue to release over the next year, allowing girls 6-12 to continue reaching their full potential alongside these superstars. It's cool. I zoomed at Special Features, too, then disappointment, "Aw, man." Nothing new.

6/9: Hmm, I wonder if they'll make Eclipso a being or still something that needs a host. It would be neat if the host is Jean Loring, at least maybe as an easter egg at the end when she comes to in a daze and they tend to her.

EDIT2: Shea Fontana just posted her Denver Comic Con schedule.

Hmm, wonder if there's anything to a panel with Susan Eisenberg. I mean, upon seeing Hippolyta in the Hero of the Year trailer...Hmm. I wonder. I mean, we know a few things about Hippolyta thanks to the first novel -- she's a legend and a hero who didn't attend Super Hero High. Coupled with her character design, you could speculate she was the first Wonder Woman back in the day -- and heck maybe had prior experience fighting Eclipso.

6/10: Kellee Riley did the art for the Katana action doll box.

Kevin Conroy's played Thomas Wayne enough times, and we have Dean Cain as Jonathan Kent, Susan Eisenberg as Hippolyta would be both completely fitting and awesome :D.

Amazing.
I love this show.

SuperHero Girls are similar in look to Disney Princess.

Wonder Woman is a mix between Snow White and Cinderella
Batgirl is very similar to Ariel
Supergirl resemble Rapunzel and Aurora
Harley Quinn is a mix between Cinderella and Aurora
Poison Ivy resemble Ariel and Merida
Bumblebee resemble Tiana
Katana resemble too much Mulan
Hawkgirl resemble Belle.

In dolls: Batgirl and Poison Ivy are simply Mattel's Ariel dolls.

6/17: A bit more info appeared on the Amazon page for Hero of the Year

A voice actress named Anna Vocino and a logline
It's time for the annual Hero of the Year ceremony and the students of Super Hero High compete for the top prize. But the festivities take a turn when Dark Opal targets the heroes and steals some of their most valued possessions to form the ultimate weapon! It's up to the students at Super Hero High to spring into action! But can Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl and Bumblebee stop Dark Opal - and his mysterious partner-in-crime - to save the day?

6/20: On June 10, Lisa Yee confirmed the third novel is Batgirl at Super Hero High. And yesterday, she was working on it. Also, a recent interview with her.

6/22: More action dolls in the summer. First look at a new Supergirl one.

6/27: The comic book store release date for the first graphic novel Finals Crisis got bumped up. It's out this Wednesday June 29. Everywhere else July 5.

Here's the cover for the second graphic novel "Hits and Myths" - which gives us a first look at Etrigan and Trigon - and a new logline
“Intro to Epics” is one of Wonder Woman’s favorite classes at Super Hero High, but even for an overachiever, balancing high school literature assignments with learning to be a super hero can be tough. But you know what they say about learning—experience is the best teacher! So when Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, Katana, and Harley Quinn fight a cyclops, a witch, and a bevy of sirens, they’re sure to learn a thing or two about The Odyssey—if they survive their epic battle in the underworld!

Not all of Family Guy has aged well (and he knows this - hell, he's friends with the PTC president now) but I genuinely think Seth MacFarlane is a really good guy.

Imagine a broadcast TV network giving someone who worked at the Golden Age of Cartoon Network the opportunity to worked on a show, and doing 8 interviews, only to completely ghosted him for weeks for absolutely no reason.

Try to wrap your head around on that one, folks.

Seriously. Explain that to me, Memorable Entertainment Television? :/
Didn't notice that the site was back...

I'll start off by saying X-Men 97 has been a blast to watch. As someone who grew up exposed to the films and cameos on other shows, it was definitely a different treat seeing how both iterations of the franchise handle the characters and their world.
Professor X's speech in today's episode was powerful ... nuff said.
