Where are the Fridays talkbacks for all of this week's shows? Either the fellow who brings us the weekly Talkback forums had Friday off this week, or the shows weren't that great.

I mainly wanted to talk back about the "Samurai Quack" parody not being shown on last night's Duck Dodgers, especially since it had been advertised all week. To say that I (as well as a few die-hard SJ fans over at "The Site") were really disappointed would surely be an understatement!!!:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Instead, we got the "Deathmatch Duck"/"Deconstructing Dodgers" combo, which was advertised on last Friday's Fridays!:deedee: (From what I've been reading, last week's show featured two Dodgers 'toons other than the ones advertised.)
And did anybody catch Tommy lip-synching the Duck Dodgers theme?:ack: :ack: :deedee: :deedee: :deedee:

I turned it off when Dodgers was over. I was too disgusted to watch anything else.

Anybody else want to comment?

My mom is having a very serious attack and is very sick, and I've been trying to tend to her and my days are getting mixed up. Also a virus is attacking my computer and wont go away. Isnt that great? -_-

This can be the DD Talkback if you want.

Joe Alaskey does a great Shatner.

I have to say how great it was having Taz voiced by Jim Cummings again. I missed him in Space Jam. Did he voice him in Looney Tunes: Back in Action? I haven't seen it yet.

I loved the father and kid watching TV and how deadpan it was having them shift back to that scene to see the sofa empty. Perfect shot at itself.:D

The love the idea of a non-clip show. Particulaly funny were Dodgers encounters with animals especially him wacking the squirrel on the table (although I wish it had been more graphic), Screaming about the leeches, being eaten by a snake, having a hippo dropped on him while sunbathing, and being abducted by King Kong.

I also liked the dog howling over Dodgers beauty make-up of the hot, then ugly girl.

Score: ****1/2. If only the new Simpsons were this funny.

Brendan Fraser, besides appearing in the movie, did the voice of Taz (and another character, but you'll have to see the movie to find out...). Glad to hear Cummings is back doing the voice again; I can't think of anyone who does a better job.

...

A review once I get to watch the episode.

Great episode, Taz, Brain (ok a talking planet with Brain's voice) and a fake clip show. It has funny. Too bad it was not Samurai Quack, fulse advertizing on cartoon networks part, still it was a very good episode.

Sorry to hear your mother is sick. I hope she's feeling better soon. And I hope your computer gets better too.

I thought the clip show was cool because they animated some new scenes from some of the older DDs.also it was nice to see Taz againAND the scene with the father and son was hilarious

I can't remember.
"Deathmatch Duck" - Very, very funny. So much to love: Jim Cummings as Taz (memories of "Taz-Mania"), the reference to Transformers: the Movie, Maurice LaMarche doing Orson Welles (always a treat), the gun gag that was still funny, even if you could see it coming from miles away.

"Deconstructing Dodgers" - Not too bad for a clip show. Interesting to see Dr. I.Q. Hi and the Martian Queen having a conversation. I didn't recognize most of the clips used. Perhaps that was intentional.

Overall, a great episode that makes me wonder why the network hasn't been giving the show the respect it deserves.

Hope everything turns out alright.

Seems to be showing a preview of the episode next when they advertise. Didn't like the first episode too much.

I thought the second episode was going to be a clip show with shows, but was I wrong. It was rather interesting. I like the ending, I wonder if he is busy tonight, hint hint. I loved it.

Speaking for the other show writers/creators, we had to cut a lot of gags and sequences we liked out of the first season's storyboards. The reason, as the Martian Queen wryly "guesses", was for time. When we tossed around the idea of doing a clip show, we thought it would be funny to animate those lost sequences and present them as if they were clips viewers might have seen before, but actually didn't. So what you saw (in addition to Dodgers annoying a lot of animals) were newly animated scenes originally intended for "Pig of Action" (Dodgers and Cadet in the ATV) "Quarterback Quack" (Marvin training Dodgers) "The Green Loontern" (how Dodgers picked up the wrong costume at the cleaners) "I'm Gonna Get You, Fat Sucka" (Dodgers VS the kitten) and a series of Dodgers' failed jobs from the episode where he quit the protectorate and went to work at Friendl..., er, I mean, Neighborly's.

Ah. Now that I know the story behind the clips, I'm not as saddened by the lack of Green Lantern Corps mentions...

"Deathmatch Duck"
It's amazing how quickly they are able to put these episodes out, given the California governor reference. The song inside of Taz's stomach was well handled, including the singing. I was shocked when I saw the close captioning actually have Daffy refer to Taz by name, but then comes the great surprise that the show is once again breaking the fourth wall. Too bad that we didn't get to see what happened to Taz; after all, when you spend an entire sequence focusing on him, how do you just leave him on the alien planet without an explanation of what happened to him? I was also a little concerned about the episode using the shotgun joke (I forget which classic Looney Tune skit from which it came), but at least the last part with the explosions from the individual components was good.

Kind of like Clerks, only these were scenes you had actually intended to use. Thanks for a great episode; I could go on about all the funny moments, particularly the football episode since I wasn't expecting to see the chicken with an axe, or to see anything after Dodgers and the Martian Commander ran away from the church (the clergy member running after them was great).

Woah you worked on the show? Nice. Its a good thing that the show is finally seeing the light of day. I'd say one thing, this show has a lot of fans especially on Toonzone, a lot of people were pissed the way it was treated. If that matters to CN execs. Now onto serious matters, I know the show has 3 seasons, we have seen somewhere more than half of the second, and then there is the third. I don't want to be greedy, but will there be a fourth? Any talks rumors, anything? Nice job, kudos and keep it up.

That is what makes Deconstructing Dodgers a great clip show episode, it only tricks you into thinking it is but really it is all new scenes. If I did not know those clips were fack before hand I probably would have looks down on this episode.

Today I enjoyed trying some nostalgic online CN games through the Wayback Machine. Some games didn't work, such as select KND games (DCR files instead of SWF ones) or the Puffy Ami-Yumi games (Dish It Out had Flash Player compatibility issue while World Tour just couldn't start after the controls tutorial).
Happy 60th birthday to Greg Weisman. Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice are all shows that I have enjoyed watching, overall.
