He possessed a strong sense of loyalty and duty, determined to eliminate DIO and his minions, while helping the Joestars any way possible using his worldly knowledge. Unlike Joseph and Jotaro, Avdol was born with his Stand, Magician’s Red and thus had essentially mastered its abilities, the power to command fire. After an encounter with Hol Horse and Centerfold, Avdol was left with two fatal wounds and died, leaving his allies to avenge his death. Offered the chance to resurrect Avdol by a genie Stand, Polnareff took the chance and wished his former ally back. However, after his wish to bring his sister back brought her back as a flesh-eating monster, the prospect of Avdol’s revival is striking Polnareff with horror...

Sherry Polnareff
Voiced by: Erika Harlacher
Polnareff’s deceased sister. When Sherry was brutally raped and murdered by Centerfold, Polnareff became lost in grief, setting him on his journey in order to find the “man with two right hands” and take revenge. While in India, Polnareff met Centerfold and killed him; while this gave him peace that justice had been brought upon his sister’s killer, he still felt pain for his sister’s death. Presented by a genie with the opportunity to bring her back from the dead, Polnareff took the opportunity and wished for his sister’s resurrection. While she seemed fine at first, reminiscing about memories from their childhood, it quickly became apparent that what the genie had conjured was a flesh-eating monster in the image of Sherry, created from Polnareff’s mind.

Cameo
Voiced by: Stephen Mann
Stand: Judgement
Abilities: Wish Granting
Stats: Destructive Power - B / Speed - B / Range - C / Durability - B / Precision - D / Developmental Potential - D
Namesakes: Cameo (R&B band) / Judgement (tarot card)
Hiding within a lamp and claiming to be a genie named Cameo, Judgement lures its targets in by invoking the tale of “Aladdin and the Magic Lamp”, offering three wishes to them. However, Judgement’s real power is using the clay within the ground to create constructs from a person’s deepest desires, turning their wishes against them and toying with their heart. These constructs are nearly perfect, having the exact appearance, texture, and weight of the object that the person desires. But if, for example, a person wished for another to be resurrected, Judgement could not replicate their soul, and thus a mindless monster in the form of the deceased would be created. While Judgement does all the work, his user Cameo hides.

DIO
Voiced by: Patrick Seitz
Namesake: DIO (Band)
Stand: ???
In the early 1880’s, a lower-class orphan by the name of Dio Brando was taken in by the upper-class Joestar family. With resentment for those of higher social status than him, Dio spent the next 7 years planning to take out the heir to the Joestar family, Jonathan Joestar, and claim its fortune. However, caught at a critical time in his plan, Dio used an ancient artifact the Joestars owned to become a vampire and began a new plot for world domination. Jonathan, along his friends, fought back against Dio, ending in a confrontation on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic which cost Jonathan’s life and sent Dio to a supposed watery grave. However, nearly a hundred years later, he was recovered by an unsuspecting group of treasure hunters, and given life anew in the modern age! Having gained possession of a mysterious Stand ability, the being now known simply as “DIO” wraps his insidious grasp around the world through agents also possessing Stands, in the resurrection of his plot to end the Joestar bloodline and dominate humanity! Jonathan’s body has manifested a Stand similar to Joseph’s Hermit Purple which allows DIO to monitor the Stardust Crusaders, but DIO’s own Stand is something more mysterious and far more terrifying.

Episode 22 (48)
“Judgement, Part 2"
Chapters adapted: 176-179

Previously on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure:
Now close to the Egyptian border, the group were crossing the Red Sea when Joseph decided to take a detour to a nearby island, where he said they would be meeting with someone important to their journey. On that island, they met a gray-haired man with a familiar face, whom Joseph introduced as Avdol’s father. However, their attempts to speak with him caused the old man to shut himself in his house, saying that the only thing anybody ever visits him with is bad news, not allowing the Crusaders to tell him of his son’s death.

Overcome with grief surrounding Avdol’s death, still feeling it was his fault, Polnareff ran off from the group and made his way to the shore. On the beach, he spotted a lamp buried in the sand, and decided to shine it off. In a burst of smoke, a robotic genie by the name of Cameo appeared, offering to grand Polnareff three wishes for freeing him. Polnareff suspected the genie of being a Stand, but after a moment decided to go along with it, making his first wish for a ton of wealth. He then discovered a pit full of buried treasure from the Napoleonic era, which made him forget his suspicions and begin brainstorming what else he could wish for: fame, love, artistic skills.

But one idea crossed his mind, and he asked Cameo to revive his sister Sherry, as well as Avdol. The genie obliged, and out from the ground rose Sherry. Polnareff was confused at first, knowing his sister was buried back in France, but as his sister began to talk to him about memories from their childhood, he was overcome with emotion and just happy his sister had returned. But when he approached her close enough to notice several mutilated birds surrounding her, she suddenly sprung forward towards him and took a bite out of his shoulder, craving flesh. While she munched on the strip of flesh she had taken off him, Polnareff cried on the ground, asking for his final wish to be to send her back to her eternal rest. But Cameo declined, confirming Polnareff’s earlier suspicions by introducing himself as the Stand representing the tarot card of Judgement, with the ability to reach into the minds of others and use dirt to conjure up their fantasies (but only being able to create, not destroy those same creations). Judgement also took the opportunity to remind Polnareff that he had already made a third wish: To revive Avdol in the same manner as Sherry.

Now:
Granting Polnareff’s wish, Judgement conjures up a clay construct of Avdol. With two flesh-eating monsters closing in on him, and the other Crusaders elsewhere on the island, there seems to be no hope for Polnareff. That is, until...

So yeah, that's pretty much the most "Screw it, this guy is alive because I say so" explanation ever.
