Previously on Black Clover:

After the initiation ceremony, Magna Swing decides to take Asta on a tour of the headquarters. They accidentally meet with Noelle Silva whom Magna reveals to be a fellow new member. As Asta tries to tries to introduce himself, Noelle quickly rejects him by reasoning that a commoner should not simply talk to a royalty. Asta then argued by stating that they are an equal member of the squad in which leads Noelle to attack him. Unfortunately, her attack missed and hits Magna instead. Noelle tries to defend her act by stating her royal status in which means nothing to Magna. Noelle storms out while discarding her squad robe.

At dawn, when Asta woke up to go to the toilet, he sees Noelle rigorously training to fix her lack of control over her magic's accuracy. As she fails to progress, Noelle starts to reminisce the reasons she got inducted to the squad. She then accidentally lose control over her power and created a huge sphere of water with her trapped inside it. Fortunately, Asta manages to save her by cutting it after being thrown towards the sphere by Yami Sukehiro. After Noelle regains her consciousness, she prepares herself to be rejected again for her lack of talent but receives encouragement from the other members instead.

Tonight: The Magic Knights: heroes that everyone in the kingdom looks up to and dreams of becoming one day. But the new recruit, Asta, has yet to do anything that seems like what a Magic Knight should be doing, as he’s stuck doing random chores

Previously on Black Clover: "I swear, beneath my hard crusty exterior, lies a soft gooey filling......and now I'm hungry."

And Prissy Priss McPrissface can't be bothered.

"What's the matter, kid, you ain't seen a grown man's genitals before?"

So their duty is to help their superiors avoid personal responsibility.

Only ASTA would get hyped up over boar catching.

"Do you ever do anything but complain?"
...you don't watch a lot of shonen series, do you?

A broom like that, he must kick ass at Quidditch.

This thread didn't make it to two pages. That's usually a big sign that people are dropping the show, like what happened with Tokyo Ghoul around the torture scene episode or the beginning of Route A. Still, this show is nowhere near as disgusting, but Tokyo Ghoul was only 26 episodes.

Gon also did boar hunting during the Hunter Exam. Another instance where I can make comparison to another show. So far, this arc seems to include the C-Ranked mission that ends up being extremely dangerous. We even have a villain that has something to do with mist. Zabuza Arc ripoff?

Maybe next episode is where the epic fights that this show's fans rave about happens. I endured the entirety of Route A hoping for entertaining moments and I hope I can endure the bad parts of this just to get to the good stuff. At least there's no torture porn or Tsukiyama like in Tokyo Ghoul.

No, Black Clover isn't disgusting like Tokyo Ghoul, or even offensive like Sword Art Online; it's just boring and derivative, and its annoying hero doesn't help.

It would be nice to get some genuine entertainment out of this series.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't the first time a talkback thread for this series didn't make it to two pages. I don't think that has happened too often since the series premiered. Hunter x Hunter frequently doesn't make it to two pages, although I think in that case it could be more due to the amount of setup/exposition a good portion of episodes can have.

Black Clover is far better than Tokyo Ghoul in my opinion. Tokyo Ghoul was trying so hard to be deep when it just came off as some grimdark angst, much like Akame ga Kill in that regard. I still absolutely loathe the season one finale where they basically said that kindness was a weakness. Even if I liked the rest of the season, that would have instantly made me hate it. Not to mention the show clearly didn't know what it wanted to do with ghouls and so made them both the heartless villains and tragic heroes struggling to survive. Black Clover is basically Shonen Tropes: The Anime thus far, but at least it seems to know what it wants to do with its story and characters. I'll take standard tropes over insultingly bad writing with awful messages any day of the week. I wouldn't want to rewatch the Toonami shows I loath like SAO, Jojo or Tokyo Ghoul even if you paid me, but I'd be okay with rewatching what I've seen of Black Clover thus far. Maybe that could change later, but Black Clover would need to do something worse than being generic for me to hate it. They are really pushing it with the creepy gag of the brother having nose bleeds over his little sister though.

Anyway, I thought that this episode was okay. Asta screaming while doing household chores was so ridiculously stupid that I kind of loved it. It was funny and seeing a bit more of that could work. It wouldn't work for a full episode, but maybe a montage of what he does in a normal day would work. Of course, he was so determined to become a Magic Knight and become Wizard King that he doesn't know what they actually do. Granted, that was for the audience's benefit as well, but you'd think he'd know what they do after all this time.

Noelle's stuck up attitude still bothers me. I knew she wouldn't instantly be okay with the Black Bulls even after that nice ending to last week's episode. That would be too easy, a bit unbelievable given her royal status and she still needs flaws to overcome. It just does get pretty annoying to see her act so high and mighty most of the time. I just hope that attitude cools down sooner rather than later given she seems to be the most interesting character introduced thus far.

I figured that the mission Yami and Magna was a poker game and using both Asta and Noelle to clean up their mess was also expected. At least I still like the dynamics between Asta and Magna and the group working on a mission together could be interesting. I don't know if this will be the main trio of the series, but I'd be fine with that since the dynamics between the different characters could work. Magna trying to make his broom look cool was kind of funny and Asta nearly falling into a lake was pretty funny. It seems like the mission will be more than what they expected. Overall, it was an okay episode.

Hopefully Noelle will mellow out over time, but she's not doing herself any favors pushing Asta off of an airborne broom. The sister-lover needs to go away. This episode is also clearly padded out, but I could lob that observation toward any of the prior episodes.

LOL, Sis-con Gauche Adlai isn't going away. Sorry.

I think Noelle likes Asta, so that's why she acts all weird around him. Despite being royalty, she was ostracized by her own family for having trouble with her magic. Asta actually encouraged her and supported her despite rather than treating her like trash.

I'm rewatching Justice League and I'm sort of weird ed out how old Superman looked in the earlier seasons
Yeah... I just watched the end of Peepoodo... And I wish I hadn't. If I'm considered a wuss for liking Milo Murphy's Law. Big City Greens, Summer Camp Island, Clarence, Craig of the Creek, Hilda, Harvey Beaks, Harvey Street Kids and even The Loud House - not to mention LPS (2012, 2018) SO MUCH MORE because at least those shows have some constraint to not be this gross - then I could care less what you think of me.
Yeah I'm probably not coming back
I was just about to say "Where's Gridman?" on that Crunchyroll streaming thread.
DISH had recent upgrades on the 61.5 orbital slot this early morning. My signal strengths got increased and transponders were moved to another.

How Cartoon Network and TBS moved to other transponders. :P
