That was like a whole mini episode. Not what I was expecting.

I laughed out loud a few times. I liked Tilly's comment about tomato soup, when Cricket was driving the car, causing Bill to freak out and the Barrycuda reference. Also,
clever twist ending with there being both a Breakfast Land and World just like Disneyland and Disney World. Get it? Because Big City Greens is a DISNEY property??
This reminds me of The Middle, especially the episodes where the Hecks went to Walt Disney World
and also had tickets for the wrong park

More Big City Greens Shorts Are In The Works!

According to Chris.

Also someone asked on Season 3 and his awnser was only if you behave but it's very obvious that S3 will be greenlight since the show was the second most viewed TV Show from Disney Channel in 2019.

Every time this thread pops up, I think of "Big City Life" by Mattafix :D

In this universe, you can grow your mustache into your eyes. Think about that for a second.

Heat Beaters: I'm surprised that Remy would try to cheat like he did. While it was nice of Cricket to let Remy break his winning streak, the fact that Remy tried to cheat, takes away on deserving the win. The plot with the rest of the Greens family was great though. Tilly's remedy of staying cool had turned against her, and it was funny. Poor Bill shouldn't have had to sacrifice his wood carvings because Gramma was impatient.

Bill-iever: Wow! Cricket was a huge jerk in this episode. He was as bad as he was in the Christmas episode. I love how Bill turned the tables by pretending to fall for Cricket's trick and acting like a crazy person. Tilly and Gramma were too gullible in believing Cricket though. Andromeda falling for Cricket's aliens-lie shows that she'll believe in anything if it's conspiracy related.

I think you're quietly catching on that Cricket is unfortunately this show's weakest (at best) / worst (at the same) character, overall. To be fair, that explains why I prefer more focus be on Tilly, thank you very much.

I didn't want to believe it, myself- but Cricket is a terrible character, IMHO. Focusing on him too much is quietly hurting this show, as well - a show I want to actually like more than I do (especially when compared to actual greats with continued potential like Amphibia and/or The Owl House, for example.), too.

Although, can you believe people want this show to be about Gloria??? I just find her to be Squidward Lite. Thankfully, she is getting better than that (if the last 2 to 3 segments focusing on her are any indication of things going right.) - so I understand why people like Gloria, now; me, just not as much.

Oh most definitely. But we always try to make sure the audience knows why Cricket feels justified in his jerkiness. Remember that everyone in the world acts the way they do because they think they’re right. We’re all jerks at times.

Oh no, I've been fully aware that Cricket has been a weak part of the show. Not always as he sometimes has good episodes. But he was at his worst in Bill-iever, though Bill turning the tables the way he did made the episode worth watching.

I can believe it. Obviously it's not gonna happen as the show is about the Green Family. But I wouldn't mind seeing more Gloria episodes myself.

I can actually agree with this. Cricket gives off a Dennis the Menace vibe.

..... And thank you for understanding, as much as it pains me to say it, in terms of why this show is getting buried by other shows from the same regime in popularity (including now dead ones, too.).

It's only gonna do so much regardless (you either make a good first impression and go from there, which BCG didn't unfortunately do for itself.), but it won't hurt (only heal) if more focus were put on the other family members (Gramma, Bill, especially Tilly, and Nancy), instead. The show would be much better off for it, at least IMHO.

That still doesn't make it right, nor does it make me warm up to him (Cricket), unfortunately. And judging by the lack of fans for him anywhere else outside of here and how too many episodes focus on him being a weak link of a character - it's pretty easy to see why people favor Amphibia and now (slowly, but surely. Unlike Amphibia, this lacked a strong first impression.) The Owl House over this particular show, despite having much better characters to focus on more (as I've mentioned above, including Remy as well) than Cricket, fortunately enough...

And this is all coming from someone who still prefers this show over The Loud House, at any rate (unpopular opinion or not that that is.). Still.....

I think the lack of buzz has less to do with Cricket and more to do with people preferring to talk about story-driven shows (which Owl House and Amphibia seem to be) than episodic ones. You don't see much discussion with Craig of the Creek, Unikitty, etc., either. Heck, Wander wasn't really mentioned until its cancellation announcement. Besides, I wouldn't say Cricket gets an infamous rap like Bloo from Foster's Home, who is at least 10x jerkier. Also, while perhaps Cricket does get a bit too much screen time, this show never forgets about the other characters, as episodes usually tend to have multiple plots going on at once.

Actually Wander did pick up in season 2 with the introduction of Lord Dominator, which technically gave the show a story-driven plot :p .

BCG has not been on as long as Foster's has so far, so Cricket's infamy has not fully blossomed yet. To me, Cricket is only a little less jerkier than Bloo, but he at least tries to do the right thing more often than Bloo.

Otherwise I agree with everything else you said.

I'm guessing since Cricket is a more, put simply, flawed character compared to other Disney protagonists. I mean, he flat out became a villain in the middle of the Christmas special. I still think he's likable.

When did this suddenly turn into a Cricket hate-thread...?
I prefer "dislike" than using "hate", since it's a bit excessive. And I cannot see anyone having a thing against Cricket without a clear reason to dislike him.

Moreover flawed, much like the rest of the cast.

I may not like Cricket all that much, but if this turns into a hate-thread for him (when all I really want is less focus on him and more on the other family members... Or maybe make him less annoying of a troublemaker, honestly.), I'll need to properly escort myself out, since I'm not asking for that, honestly. Just don't make the show all about him, which thankfully, this show is smart enough so far not to outright do, either.

I do agree that Bloo (FHFIF) sucks so much more, honestly. Don't get me started on Victor (Victor & Valentino); at least Cricket isn't a complete crybaby like he is - hopefully, the writers can keep it that way, as well. Simply because it helps when Cricket makes up for his screw-ups by not crying about it like a baby, for one thing.

Happy Birthday to the great Akira Toriyama!
Today, variety in my country's Cartoon Network's schedule has died.
I'm Planning to make a New Qubo schedule With Several New and Returning Shows (With one of them being Jacob Two-Two), No Paid Programming and the Return of the 4 hour Marathons.
Today marks the 10th Year Anniversary of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and the 7th Year Anniversary of its series finale. It ended up becoming my favorite adaptation of the Scooby-Doo Franchise and found out about Lewis Black by name (I had heard his voice in some earlier shows).
Happy birthday to Akira Toriyama. My moniker here should make it clear that I am a fan of the DB Franchise.
