All of us were already fans of Christina’s and knew she’d be great as Selina, but she’s GREAT — she gave us exactly what we were hoping for, and more. And Jackie Hoffman is a hoot as Selina’s live-in maid, Greta.

You’ll all get to see what I mean in just a few short hours…
Surprised she never voiced her in one of the DTV's because she sounds absolutely perfect in the role :).

Move over Maven, now we've got Greta :p.
In a thread on X/Twitter, they revealed the episode titles and included animated title cards. Possible spoilers, I guess.
They just couldn't resist bringing back title cards :D!

So:

In Treacherous Water - Penguin

And Be a Villain - Clayface

Kiss of the Catwoman - Do I even need to say it :rolleyes2:?

The Night of the Hunters - Firebug

The Stress of Her Regard - Harley Quinn

Night Ride - Gentleman Ghost

Moving Targets - Onomatopoeia

Nocturne - Nocturna

Looks like they renamed Two-Face Part 1 and 2 from the episode title leak to "The Killer Inside Me" and "Savage Night."

I don’t rembember those two episodes ever being titled ‘Two-Face part 1 and 2’ unless they were just temporary place-holders from VERY early in their development. When that leak happened, they were already sporting their Jim Thompson-inspired titles.

Just goes to show you, don’t believe everything you read on the internet…

Plus you guys would probably not want to repeat yourself so blatantly episode title-wise :p.

Exactly right. Also, TBH, I was never all that keen on ‘Two-Face Pt.1 and 2’ being the title of the BTAS episodes either — it’s not like we had episodes titled ‘Joker’ or ‘Man-bat’ or ‘Catwoman’ etc.
So when "The Clock King" , "Bane" , "Lock Up" came around, there were other titles I imagine... (edit: oh yeah Altieri said Martin Pascko called the first one "Time See What's Become of Me" then he said you changed it to "The Clock King" (a little after 34 min. here))

All this time I thought the "Two-Face" titles were meant to be a double meaning, on one hand the name of the character and on the other, the at times duplicitous nature of humanity.

Dang….forgot about those. Never mind :)

I have no memory of ‘Time See What‘s Become Of Me’, but I’ll take Kevin’s word for it —Marty did like to use song lyrics for episode titles. ‘Turn and Face the Strange Changes‘ was his original title for ‘The Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne’, IIRC.

Not that I dislike the practice, I’ve even done it myself (‘To Another Shore’ from JLU, for example), but those particular lyrics didn’t really have anything to do with those episodes beyond having the words ‘time’ and ‘strange’ in them.

So The Night of the Hunters caught my eye, since Night of the Hunter is one of my favorite movies, And Be a Villain and The Stress of Her Regard I knew by name, two mystery books, so I googled a bit to see if there were any more.

I'm assuming Nocturne is after the 1946 film and The Killer Inside Me and Savage Night after the Jim Thompson novels, aside from the new additions to my reading list (thanks, B.T.!) any other references I'm missing?

Initially I wanted all the episode titles to be ‘extra-pulpy’, like chapter titles from the old serials, but most of the ones I came up with were just too cheesy. ‘Kiss of the Catwoman’ was the only one from the ‘extra-pulp’ explorations that I liked. I think it was subconsciously inspired by the 1985 movie KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN.

’The Stress of Her Regard’ is from the excellent horror/fantasy novel by Tim Powers, who got it from a poem by Clark Ashton Smith. Ed Brubaker suggested that one, and also ‘Night of the Hunters’, a riff on the title of the classic film.

’…And Be A Villain’ is from a Nero Wolfe novel by Rex Stout, who pinched it from Shakespeare’s HAMLET. Greg Rucka came up with that one.

’Moving Targets’ and ‘Night Ride’ don’t allude to any particular film, novel or poem, and came about from a group-text spitballing chain. Jase Ricci may have suggested ‘Night Ride’ but I’m not 100 % sure on that.

’Nocturne’ simply alludes to Natalia Knight’s original ‘supervillain’ name from the comics, since we never actually call her Nocturna in the episode.

It was Ed’s idea to use the titles of the two Jim Thompson novels (as a sort of Naming Convention) for the Two-Face episodes.

’In Treacherous Waters’ follows the same ‘Preposition-Adjective-Noun’ pattern as the title of our first BTAS episode, since none of the other titles we came up with floated my boat (forgive the pun).

I love how the villains have been reimagined so far. Basing Penguin on Matron Mama Morton from Chicago was absolutely inspired.

All I really want for this show to have at least one episode have a jazz soundtrack, similar to Bullet for Bullock. The fact that we still have yet to have a Batman production without Batjazz as the soundtrack astounds me.

Speaking of Bullock, I see he's much more corrupt in this show--possibly irredeemable. I expected that for Flass, not so much for Harvey.

Great! I need to finish the season before I fully enjoy the soundtrack. They also still need to release Weidmann's Beware the Batman soundtrack at some point.

Watched the first episode, and I just can't get over how low-effort everything looks and moves. I don't see what I'd be getting out of this show that I couldn't find satisfied by watching The Batman from 2005. Why are there no cartoons that seem to be trying anymore with their visuals?

Well it appears that Pres Cafe has blocked me, or at least Cloudflare is saying I'm blocked from it.
